Summary: God has the ultimate of timing
Review: An amazing experience you really don't want to miss. I've listened to the whole set of tapes (18 in all, I believe) at least four times now, and some of the individual tapes over and over. I can't convey to you how much this book means to me. The voices of Ellen Burstyn and Ed Asner bring the "God" dialogues to life. And Walsch is one of the best at reading his own work. If ever there was a book on philosophy that you should take a look at, it's book one. At least listen to the definition of reality. When you get to book two, keep an open mind. The political stuff is a bit weird, but there are some gems of philosophy to think about in there. And when you get to book three, it can be -- well, life-changing. There aren't enough stars to rate this series. Wow!

Summary: This is a great self improvement book.
Review: As I read this book, I realized that it really didn't make a difference whether this book came from God or the author came up with the ideas. These ideas are some great ideas for all of us to live by. If everyone in the world practiced some of these ideas, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. Donald Walsh put these ideas into an easy to understand dialogue that just makes sense. Before reading this dialogue, I had many questions about the bible that the bible has never answered. Many of those questions were answered for me in the book, Conversations with God. I read all 3 books and it was truly inspiring. My life changed for the better because of Donald Walsh's writings. What could be better than that?

Summary: Beware of this misleading book, warned from my friends email
Review: Beware of "Conversations with God" books

Conversations with God

Dr. James Dobson talked about this book twice this
week. It is devastating and parents and Christian
schools need to be aware of this. Do pass it on to
your pastor/church/e-mail addressees. Parents Beware
very disturbing information. Please read. Parents,
Grand parents, Aunts, Uncles, Please pay special
attention not only to the what your kids watch on TV
and in movie theaters and the music they listen to
but we must also be alert regarding the books they
read... Two particular books, Conversations with God
and Conversations with God for Teens, written by
Neil D Walsh. sound harmless enough by their titles
alone.

These books have been on the New York Times best
sellers list for a number of weeks; these
publications makes truth of the statement "Don't
judge a book by its cover/title". The author
purports to answer various questions from kids using
the "voice of God"

However, the "answers" that he gives are not
biblically-based and go against the very infallible
word of God.

For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks
the question "why am I a lesbian?" His answer is
that she was born that way because of genetics (just
as you were born right-handed, with blue eyes,
etc.). Then, he tells her to go out and "celebrate"
her differences. Another girls poses the question "I
am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I
should marry him because I am living in sin. Should
I marry him?" His reply is "Who are you sinning
against? Not me, because you have done nothing
wrong.

Another question asks about God's forgiveness of
sin. His reply - I do not forgive anyone because
there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing
as right or wrong and that is what I have been
trying to tell everyone; do not judge people. People
have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong
because the rule is "judge not lest ye be judged".

And the list goes on. Not only are these books the
false doctrine of devils, but in some instances even
quote (in error) the Word of God. . These books (and
others like it) are being sold to school children
(The Scholastic Book Club) and we need to be aware
of what is being fed to our children. Our Children.

Our children are under attack. So I pray that you be
sober and vigilant about teaching your kids the Word
of God and guarding their exposure to worldly
mediums, because our adversary, the devil, roams
about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour
(1 Peter 5:8). And how many of us know that lions
usually hunt for the slowest, and weakest and
YOUNGEST
OF ITS PREY?

Pass this on to every believer you know. God BLESS!

Summary: God answers man's most troubling questions.
Review: Conversations With God, Book One is the personal expose of the author, Neale Donald Walsch, who after having suffered disappointment upon disappointment in all areas of his life writes an angry letter to God composed of questions, and to his surprise receives an answer. In the course of the conversation Neale poses probing questions dealing with the issues of money, personal relationships, religion, guilt, fear - life as we know it. Some, if not all of the questions asked have troubled each one of us at one point or another. The answers are simple, eye-opening, and replete with humor and honesty. Most importantly the answers are not just relevant to the author, but to every member of the human race. Following the guidelines given in this book can cause a global shift, creating a world devoid of fear, and resplendent in peace, love, and sheer joy - the world and type of existence that God has intended for us all along. Reading Conversations With God, Book One is an, inspiring, moving, life changing experience.

Summary: PLEASE, DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS "god"!
Review: Don't waste you hard earned money! This book is utter nonsense written to swindle and mislead the weak-minded.

The "god" of this book is simply THE RHETORIC OF EASTERN MYSTICISM, which is ironic since that particular 'god' is an impersonal force that could not communicate with anyone. The whole concept of this book is as idiotic as saying you could have a conversation with electricity.

The oxymoron of 'ABSOLUTE RELATIVISM' is strongly preached throughout the book. There is no separation of right and wrong or good and evil. THE AUTHOR EXPECTS US TO PARK OUR BRAINS IN NEUTRAL and accept that the most wicked mass murders, serial rapists, and hate breathing racists are only 'bad' because we 'think' they are bad, not because they really are evil. This 'god' would have us believe that there is no difference between a Mother Teresa and an Adolph Hitler.

In an ever increasing age of moral relativism, which is a large reason for much of the current financial market woes, HELLO, it never ceases to amaze me the depths to which publishing companies will stoop to print any trash that can make a buck for them.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK, AS IT WON'T TELL YOU A THING ABOUT THE TRUE, PERSONAL CREATOR WHO LOVES YOU!

Summary: Gods will not mine
Review: I felt like this book was written for me. It was all i needed to know at the time. I realized that following Gods will was not done without courage and belief. I fell almost reborn it sounds remarkable but it is true. I came up with an excerise to help me remember Gods will and i remind myself everyday. Your in a room tied to a chair and a person comes in with a gun and holds it to your head and ask you one question,which you can only answer yes or no. Do you believe in God? Something to think about. Passages from the book that relates to this;
"Mine is always your highest thought, your clearest word, your grandest feeling. Anything less is from another source"God Bless!

Summary: Mixed review
Review: I was very touched by the first half of Conversations with God, and I would give this first half five stars. I truly felt connection and truth--God speaking to my heart. I especially loved the soothing tones of Ellen Burstyn's voice as God. Gosh, would I love to hear that voice the next time I need a shoulder to cry on--or someone to laugh with! (Auntie Ellen!) Most of the first half of Conversations with God primarily dealt with basic questions and truths, I think in a direct and beautiful way. Unfortunately, the second half brought me back to Earth, and I would chose to give it only a star or two. First of all, God sounded rather contemptuous of humans. I found this a bit depressing(!) Also, I was painfully aware of Neale Donald Walsch's ego in the way of any message. Who the heck cares "exactly how many" lives NDW has lived? He also obviously feels guilty about "taking money for doing God's work." I wished he would have dealt with that problem in private. It made me think he's a bit of a wienie. Oh, and the part about alcohol not being a substance that should be ingested by humans. If that were so, why are our bodies able to metabolize ethyl alcohol? What about alcohol dehydrogenase? It's a sure bet Neale Donald Walsch has never tasted a 1989 Chateau Latour--surely proof of the existence of God! Still, I think this a worthwhile, though flawed, work.

Summary: Overall, it is a very interesting book.
Review: Neale Donald Wlash writes a letter to God containing questions which are a result of his frustration. To his surprise, God answers, and thus we have Conversations With God, Book One. The book is written in a question - answer format, where Neale is asking the questions and God is supplying the answers. The questions are typical life questions that everyone has wanted to ask God at some point. However, many of the answers are surprising. The book offers interesting insight in a variety of areas, including religion and sin. I like the point the book implies about relationships between people and God. We all have the capability to conversate with God if we would just slow down and recognize what God is saying to us in our thoughts, life experiences, and through others. One troubling aspect of the book is that the author seems to be writing from a certain religious standpoint, but does not identify which religion. The closest religious expression which matches the thoughts of the author is New-Age spirituality. Overall, the book is very interesting and can help a person awaken to the potential of a having close relationship with God. Yet, the book tends to reveal more about the character of Neale Donald Walsh than the character of God.

Summary: Conversations with God- book 1 volume 1
Review: These tapes -Book 1 volume 1 - changed my life. I listen to these tapes over and over again. I have always had many questions about life and why life? These tapes have explained so much to me that I wish they were a requirement before one could graduate from high school or college. These tapes are THAT good! I thank Neale Walsch for giving me the oppurtunity to listen to these tapes. If you only listen to one set of tapes in your life make these be them, they will make you THINK. A must for life, a must for living.
