Rating: Summary: Oldie but goodie Review: 2 months prior to the FE exam a coworker passed me this book. I also purchased the Newnan (2001-2002 review book). I vastly preferrred this book due to it being of marginal use in "learning" foreign concepts whereas the Newnan book was of no use (to me). Four years out of college and I still passed.
Rating: Summary: Best FE prep book out there !!!! Review: After talking to some of my fellow classmates about the FE exam and its difficulty, I decided to prepare. I looked through many books but this manual was by far the most thorough. This book covers everything from units to ethics. At the beginning of every chapter the author provides adequate explanations of relevant engineering concepts. He then provides examples with worked out solutions to make the concepts easier to understand.
The book also contains a practice test for the morning and afternoon general exams. I personally chose to take the discipline specific afternoon exam. The reason being is because I'm an electrical engineer. The majority of the general exam is civil/mechanical engineering. I felt it would increase my chances of passing. Let me tell you, I chose wisely. I passed the exam the first time around because of this book (and my decision). I highly recommend it for any engineer planning to prepare for the exam.
Rating: Summary: If you want to pass the PE - GET THIS BOOK! Review: Even though I have an engineering degree. I got my degree back in 1984. So I thought woah this is going to be hard. After studying the book carefully and grasping each theoretical concept and did the examples. Not only did I pass the test. I smoked it. Lets say this book is even made for morons to pass the EIT. I recommend this book to even a high school graduate. This book is worth 5 times its price because it is priceless.
Rating: Summary: The only FE Prep book you need... Review: Having been out of school for over ten years at the time I registered for the FE exam, I knew I needed a Preparation Manual that would help me "re-learn" all of those long forgotten formulas and methods. My current lifestyle also dictated that my study be done quickly and with a minimun investment of my personal time (while still ensuring that I pass). This manual did it! This was all I needed to take the test. It is highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: THE Book! Review: I never imagined I could clear the EIT Exam after studying for just 10 days while working full time. Only book I used was FE Review Manual and I did it! I am surprised myself.... On the contrary I wouldn't advice anyone to start so late, give yourself a month to prepare fairly well. The book is excellent and covers everything and in detail. The exercises are harder in the book than in the actual exam which prepares you well for the exam. Personally, A MUST book for anyone planning on the taking the exam.
Rating: Summary: Best Test Prep for FE Review: I purchased a lot of books to study for the FE (I was out of school 13 years, so the stuff wasn't exactly fresh in my mind), but I finally ended up using this book exclusively. It is really all you need. The review is excellent. I wish there were more practice problems, but the problems provided are sufficient to test your grasp of the material. One of the truly useful things about this book is the fact that it follows the sequence of the NCEES reference book handed out on exam day (absolutely make sure you get a copy of this). Knowing where to find things QUICKLY is one of the true keys to passing the exam. If you follow Lindeburg's "recipe", you will be familiar with the exam reference book, and you will pass the exam. I passed, and I thought my chances were hopeless. I was out of school a while, so I put in about 4-5 hours per chapter, but I suspect many could do the review in much less time. I think the book suggests an hour per chapter, which, in my case, was unrealistic. The point is, some books don't give you enough in the way of review, so you end up staring at the page and reverse-working the problems in order to try to grasp the concepts. This book provides the review material you need, and assumes little in the way of background knowledge. I recommend it without hesitation or reservation.

Rating: Summary: AN EXCELLENT BOOK FOR EIT Review: I took EIT in Oct. 2004 and passed the test with 93. This book is the only book I used to prepare the test.
I graduated in 98 with BSCE. It took me one and half month to review the manual and prepare the test. I should say there is some difference between the real test problem and problems in the manual. But if you really pratice all the questions in the book, you are very close to pass the test.
The most important thing to pass the test is practice, practice and practice.
Rating: Summary: GREAT book!! Review: I used only this book and passed my EIT first attempt :) studied practically for 10 days and got through. It is THE book to use to refresh your calculus, physics and other topics....but plan to studying for the exam for atleast a month to be better prepared. Either I was lucky that day or the test was easy for me, dont know, but all I can say is work all the exercises and the sample test papers two days before the exam. All the Best!
Rating: Summary: Pass first time. Review: I used this book to review for the FE and Passed the first time, 13 years after graduation. I followed the review plan given by Lindeburg to the letter and was successful. I recommend this book to anyone who actually wants to pass the exam and not just make an attempt.
