Rating: Summary: Good for the cost Review: I enjoy Paperblanks brand journals very much. I use journals rather than notebooks or pads for work, so I go through a lot of them, and this is one of my preferred brands. This particular journal is not my favorite of the line, but is very nice. You DO get what you pay for, as a previous reviewer noted. Paper quality is decent and takes a fountain pen very well, I find. However, I must say that the journal is listed as "faux old leather." Faux is clearly not real leather, yes? Just a thought.
Rating: Summary: Great travel jounal/sketchbook Review: I love this journal, not only because it looks nice with my leather backpack - but because the hard cover wrap/flap protects the pages and keeps tickets and paper trinket tucked into pages as the journal bounces around inside my backpack.
The pocket inside the back cover is a nice touch. I love the mood the faux leather cover sets for the journal. It's a pleasure to record my travels and inspirations in this little gem. The only thing that would make it perfect for me is if they would allow a little more space in the flap area so I could tuck my favorite pen inside. The magnetics hidden in the flap is a nice touch and keeps the journal closed neatly when not in use. I love this journal so much that I've stocked up on them so I can give them as gifts.
Yes, they are not real leather......take note of the word faux!
Rating: Summary: okay, this isn't leather! Review: I ordered this "leather journal" to receive a journal with cardboard binding wrapped in paper printed to look like leather. I guess you get what you pay for, but this is definitely a misleading ad.It just looks cheep.
