Summary: An Outstanding World Atlas
Review: A good atlas should be on your bookshelf along with a dictionary, thesaurus, and other references. An atlas has a way of going out of date more rapidly than a dictionary, so it's important to have one that is current, but does not cost a fortune. This volume fills the need wonderfully. The maps are detailed and easy to read. New nations are there, and there are excellent maps of the terrain throughout the world. You can sit in your armchair and travel the world with these remarkably clear maps. There is a huge index of cities and clear information about climate and population around the planet. All this, and the price is amazingly low. It's an excellent atlas for a bargain price.

Summary: Rand McNally World Atlas
Review: An excellent reference for the world's geography. Could be used as a geography text book in Americas high schools or colleges. I enjoy browsing through this atlas as it covers so many countries and Pacific islands I was in during my military career.

Summary: Excellent Atlas value
Review: Anyone who hasn't bought a new atlas in 10 years needs this book! Great value, well put together. Get yourself one!

Summary: Is this really a World Atlas?
Review: I just found out 2/3 content of this atlas is about the United States. And this is actually not what I wanted --- I have a very good US Atlas, but I just wanted a real "world" atlas.
The US maps of this atlas are made pretty well --- you can find almost any small town on a map. But for countries outside US, I just feel dispointed, especially for big countries, like Russia and China, the "resolution" of the map is not so good as my expection.

Summary: compact atlas
Review: This atlas is slim and lightweight compared to other atlases, making it easy to pickup to look something up. The maps are clear and easy to read. Each of the maps in the world map section have scales of elevation and distance printed next to them. A great bargain...

Summary: great bargain!
Review: This book is a great bargain as it is a sturdy oversized hardcover for the price. I've only looked at it briefly but it appears to be concise as far as geographical information is concerned. It is a good choice for someone who wants quick reference to city/country locations of the world.
