Rating: Summary: A Guide to Keep in Your Pocket Review: This light, compact guide is perfect for anyone traveling to Italy, although the type was almost a bit too small for me. I could see the type being a bit larger and the book a little thicker. A few extra pages would not affect the size of this book in a substantial way. If you are just reading a few pages at a time and can handle a very small font, this might be perfect for you.
If you have yet to get contacts or glasses, you might find this easy to read. I had to put on my glasses and hold the book very close to my eyes to be able to read the text and it still felt like the text was too cluttered. This is a real pity, because this book has so much useful information. I hope they reconsider the size of this book and print a slightly more useable version.
This book is filled with color-coordinated information and up-to-date information about Italy (the author spends up to four months a year in Italy). If you are wondering if your cell phone will work in Italy, there is even a section on this subject. There are pages of vocabulary, information about shopping, and tips on how to avoid losing your purse or wallet. If you love to shop, then you will want to read about the VAT refund. If you want to enjoy visiting cathedrals, you might want to consider reading about the dress code. I guess you can't wear shorts.
This book looks very interesting and I was able to read a few pages here and there, but the text is just too tiny.

Rating: Summary: Take this with you on your next trip to Italy! Review: When you are traveling in an unfamiliar country, you need to understand how things work. Where can I park? What do the blue lines mean? Do I pay for my coffee when I order? Basic, everyday things, that are not the same as where you live. What you need is an instruction manual. And now, for Italy, you have one! "Italy, Instructions for Use" is small enough to fit into your hip pocket but contains everything that you need to know for survival in Italy. If you are heading to Italy, slip this book into your pocket - it will make your trip easier and let you get into the swing of things from the moment you arrive.Pauline Kenny, Slow Travel, www.slowtrav.com
