Rating: Summary: Excellent---Find your parenting problem, pick your solution! Review: "Perfect Parenting" is a very handy parenting guide. The book is unique in that it covers each parenting dilemma with not one, but several (and sometimes many), possible solutions. This enables parents to gear solutions to their own parenting style. I found this to be an extremely useful and clever feature. The book is written in dictionary-style. It's most useful as a resource guide sitting on the shelf patiently awaiting the next parenting conundrum. I like this format because I hate sitting down and just reading a parenting book. By the time an actual problem arises I've forgotten everything I've read. I would rather use parenting books on an as-needed basis rather than reading them from cover-to-cover. "Perfect Parenting" fits this bill "perfectly." I gave the book the acid test and used it immediately on some of my own parenting situations. We had the little matter of siblings disrespecting each other on a daily--hourly?--basis and I found some helpful hints under "Siblings, hateful emotions" (no, I'm not making this category up--kinda scary, but it fit my situation). This little exercise did, however, point out one of the book's shortcomings regarding basic organization. The book has no index (one of my personal literary pet peeves) which makes it more difficult to find information. The book does have a comprehensive index-like table of contents, but in my opinion it does not replace the need for a true index. But don't let this small quibble discourage you from this book. Overall, the book is excellent and I have turned to it many times. BOTTOM LINE: It's a buy. Keep it handy for all those challenging parenting moments when your brain can't work fast enough!

Rating: Summary: A Perfect resource for 'quick-tip' parenting ideas! Review: "The 'Art of Parenting' doesn't always come with clear-cut solutions to it's many problems. It would be wonderful if there existed such a place that provided ideas and suggested solutions for use in various parenting situations. I found such a resource in the book, "Perfect Parenting: The Dictionary of 1,000 Parenting Tips". The book is written in an easy to read dictionary format, so all you have to do is flip directly to the issue you need help with, and pick out one of the creative suggestions to use. Parents are always searching for ways to make their lives a little easier, well now there's a way. "Perfect Parenting" will no doubtedly become a respected and treasured guide for today's parents. I consider it a valuable addition to my parenting library." Joi, My ParenTime
Rating: Summary: Perfect Parenting Solutions at your Finger Tips Review: A better title would be "Perfect Parenting Solutions." This is the most accessible advice for everyday parenting by regular parents who care about the emotional and physical well-being of their children. By arranging problems in alphabetical order, the author has made it easy to find exactly what a parent needs immediately. A brief description of the situation is followed by a brief explanation of what's going on. Then the gems: multiple solutions from which to choose, all will work but parents can select the one that seems right for their unique situation. This book should be in every bathroom - the only place parents really have time to read.

Rating: Summary: Excellent and to the point - perfect for busy parents Review: Elizabeth sent me this book so that I could review it for her and what a fabulous book it is. This is a really easy to use book, you don't have to read cover to cover to get your info. The format is in an easy topic look-up style and I refer to it often with my own four children! This book has 319 pages and not one page is what I would consider a waste of space or "filler". The parenting tips are written from common sense no-nonsense thinking and I can endorse this book. The foreward was written by North America's very own William Sears, M.D.
