Review: This is precisely the book Consumer Report Magazine would have written, if they had done it the right way the first time around...(the one they do have out is outdated and doesn't go into great details). We used this book for all our purchases, and were able to give helpful (precise) hints for the baby shower. So, for instance, instead of receiving a "Snuggli" baby carrier, we got a "Baby Bjorn" instead...and found out that its track record in Manhattan makes it an all-out winner- comfort, durability, and safety-wise. This book is one of the top five MUST HAVES for 1st time parents. We saved $ by not making purchase mistakes.

Review: This book was truly the most helpful book we found for about-to-be parents. We are 4 months pregnant, needed to be thrifty in our expenses, and also needed guidance as to what the essentials are. The book contains the most realistic layette list we have ever seen (it actually tells you what not to buy instead of trying to sell you everything single baby gadget available), a list for a baby's first aid kit, questions to ask hospitals, tons of catalogs to subscribe to, information for maternity clothing (very helpful), reviews of popular books for new parents, breastfeeding books, reviews of breast pumps, what toys to have around for play, taking to the tub, books for infants, etc. The authors have a great style and an even better sense of humor about the topic that makes this very easy reading. I initially borrowed this book from our local library but ended up ordering the book from amazon because it was so invaluable. We are going to remember this book and give it as a gift the next time we know first time parents!

Review: I was told about this book through some acquaintances. It was exactly what I was looking for, a book that rated products based on the author's experiences, and gave honest but well-researched information. Not only have I learned a lot from it, I have taken the authors' advice and received a response from them via email about questions I had that weren't answered in the book.

Review: The authors of "Bridal Bargains" give great advice on what's important and safe to buy for your baby and give excellent pointers on purchasing quality items for less (in a fun-to-read, humorous style). The authors tell you when it makes sense to buy top-of-the line and where to save-- from furniture to clothing to toys. As first-time parents, we didn't initially know where to start, but this book gave us a solid grounding. It also includes a pull-out card to take shopping that summarizes hints. The authors additionally provide updates to the book on a website. A must-buy from my perspective --I've been buying this for friends who are expecting, too.

Review: Baby Bargains is our shopping bible. We got our copy last week, and after carefully making our shopping list for our new daughter's layette, we estimated $340 for our first trip. After reading the chapter on baby layette's and shopping carefully following the suggested tips, our total for the days shopping came to just $170! This book guarantees that you'll save at least $250, or your maoney back. Well after just one shopping trip, we only have $80 to go!

Review: I LOVED this book. I was on bedrest for seven weeks before my first baby was born and had to do all my "baby shopping" from the couch--I don't know what I would've done without this book. It had great lists of catalogs with phone numbers for their order centers--which was really helpful as I had to do most of my shopping through catalogs. With all the baby products currently on the market, shopping for the first baby can get overwhelming, and this book helped sort through all the choices. It was also very funny! I don't know that it necessarily saved me so much money, but it sure did help weed out the bad products out there. Great advice on the safest products for baby--seemed to have good research in that area. Definitely was my "bible"--I bought very few items without consulting this book first! A must, especially with the first pregnancy. Also great to use as a resource for registering for a baby shower or for buying baby shower gifts.

Review: If you are a new partent-to-be, you know that there are endless items that you need to buy - but which ones are safe, durable and cost effective? I finally feel like I am equipped to go into the retailers to purchase our baby furniture and other merchandise. Baby Bargains covers everything from A-Z, which are the best brands and styles to buy and then how to save money when buying them! I may have been able to do it without this book, but I would have waisted at least an extra $2,000 on products that may not hold-up or be safe for our new child. I love it!

Review: This is the book for parents-to-be. Strolling through Babies R US, I saw new and parents to be clutching copies as they wandered through the isles. This book is your best protection against the feeding frenzy experienced by anyone shopping for baby or maternity items. I can't imagine naviagting through my pregnancy without it!
