Summary: The book gives you the bottom-line on the best baby products
Review: This book was the best baby/pregnancy book I bought! I was so overwhelmed by baby products when it came to shopping for my first child. The Fields narrowed it down nicely and gave great advice on what to buy, what NOT to waste your money on, and how and where to get the products, including mail order and internet shopping. It's a book not to live without out, especially if it's your first child!!!!

Summary: Excellent resource book for new and repeat parents
Review: This book was full of information about best buys for baby and the new mom. What I enjoyed most besides the humor was that the authors went indepth in the issue of safety and rated a wide range of products from cribs to car-seats and everything in between. This is a must-have for anyone who has small children or is preparing for the little tricycle motors. This book was given to me as a gift and I will be sure to gift it to my next pregnant friend.

Summary: GREATEST BABY RESOURCE EVER!
Review: Expecting our first baby, this book was the greatest resource of all the ones I accessed. The reviews of the manufacturers and customer-used products is what makes this book so helpful. The authors have gratiously offered a multi-level approach to recommendations so that readers can decide what suits them best. My only disappointment from using the book was that some of the sources for products were not very responsive in getting catalogs or other requested info to me (certainly not the authors' fault). GET THIS BOOK if you have any need to do baby related shopping!

Summary: Absolutely a MUST HAVE!!!
Review: I fell in love with a previous version of this book when I was expecting #1, and was so excited to see that this newest version would be out in time for me to use it in preparing for #2! The book gives you a no-nonsense review of what you will NEED and WHY. There is an endless list of sources (stores, internet & catalogs) you can use to locate the products as well. I utilized the information they listed on how to contact manufacturers of baby products to make sure that the things I was planning to reuse from baby #1 were still safe! I also was able to locate the first pair of COMFORTABLE maternity underwear I have ever seen through a reference in the book! It's just a fabulous book, full of useful, practical information, and best of all, it's even enjoyable to read!

Summary: A must-have for first-time parents!
Review: Being a first-time parent, I was overwhelmed with all the baby accessories and furniture available out there. This book answered my questions on the baby products I purchased. I read every page of this book and found it very informative and educational-just what I need since I do not know the terminologies and the differences among the products that I will be purchasing. I highly recommend www.babycatalog.com mentioned in the book as well, which sells quality baby products at very competitive prices. In the end, I shopped around (compared prices of almost 10 stores) and bought my Pali crib (Sabrina), Peg Perego Prima Pappa high chair and Tender Twin stroller and Britax Roundabout car seat from one store who matched the LOWEST PRICE I can get(even the ones from out-of-state) and resulted in savings of $150 and time as well (I did not have to visit every store and check out every stroller, etc.) This would not have been possible if not for the information I read from the book which informed me so much that I was able to bargain with the baby store manager.

Review: My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby. It is a bit awkward to go into BabysRUs to do all our shopping because people, especially the teenage salespeople, don't quite know how to treat us. This book taught us to focus on quality, not quantity -- a key lesson. We saved hundreds & hundreds with this book. We also discovered internet shopping too through this book. Look at "ibaby.com", "babycatalog.com", and "babycenter.com". We joined Baby Catalog of America and got an received an additional 10% off everything we ordered through them. Thank you Baby Bargains! We owe these authors big time! We highly recommend this book!!!

Review: This is a wonderfully organized, complete book on what to buy for your baby. I went from knowing nothing about affordable high-quality baby products, to feeling downright knowledgable about what to buy. I took this book with me to buy a crib and wasn't surprised that I knew more than the salesperson. This book is much more helpful and detalied than "Baby Stuff". But it! You won't be sorry.
