Summary: Baby Bible Buying Guide!
Review: This book has been a tremendous help. The author has a wonderful sense of humor and is straight forward. I used the book as my buying guide and I have not been disappointed with any of the recommendations. I knew of some of the basic items we would need but had no idea about the quality, features to look for and safety issues and this book helped me make better and informed decisions. My twin girls are nine months old now and I still refer to the book. I have recommended this book to several of my friends and to every expecting parent.

Summary: THE EXPECTANT SHOPPER'S BIBLE!!
Review: When we were pregnant, I never went anywhere without this book. I kept it in my purse so I always had it with me when shopping. They review everything from furniture to formula and offer helpful tips on buying the necessities. We had a few items that only received moderate reviews and sure enough, those were the ones we hated the most. I'm not sure the book saved us a lot of money, but with the huge selection of "baby essentials" it made the selection process much less frustrating. The authors also include contact information for just about every company represented in the book. This is extremely helpful if you experience any problems later on with your "baby gear". Thanks to this book I found out that I was able to get an extension kit for my son's carseat straps FREE OF CHARGE from the company. If not for this book I probbably would have run out and bought a whole new carseat. This would definately be the first gift I would buy any expecting parent.

Summary: Best Bargain Book on the market
Review: As a totally clueless newly pg gal, I needed HELP! This book is very educational and rates almost every major company you can think of. The chapters are broken down in an easy to read style with great indexes. This book has a money back guarentee if you are not satisfied, so there is no risk. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: like a Consumer Reports
Review: I didn't use this book so much to find -bargains-, as to figure out -what- to buy. Which cribs/ strollers/ high chairs/ car seats/ baby monitors are the best buy for the money and why? It's kind of like a Consumer Reports. Without this book, I wouldn't have had a clue how to choose, say, a stroller. But they have an entire chapter devoted to the various features of baby strollers, outlining which features parents tend to like or dislike or view as unnecessary. Then they list some common baby stroller brand names, their costs, and how they stack up against each other in terms of balancing desirable features against cost. I consulted this book again and again.

Summary: A DEFINATE MUST FOR 1st Time Parents!
Review: As a first time future mom of twins, I became completely overwhelmed when I first started looking for strollers, cribs, etc. Several of my close friends recommended this book and I have to say, it's a godsend! It really helps you dig through everything out there, helps you decide what you really need, and helps you decide which brands are best in a variety of price ranges. I recommend reading through the book first, zeroing in on the brands and products you want and then going to their web sites to see photos of all your options. Then, armed with the information, venture out into the stores! You'll feel focused and informed. We had moms following us around Babies R Us asking questions and asking us to look things up because we had done our research and they were overwhelmed. My first advice to them? Go buy Baby Bargains!!!

Review: I'm a first time mom, and I basically knew nothing about babies before we decided to get pregnant. It was so nice to find a book that tells you what you really need, and what's a waste of money and space. As I was registering for baby items, I constantly looked back at the reviews and suggestions they had. I also liked the fact that they gave lots of websites you can go to when you're looking at different products. Shopping around this way saved us a ton of money. This book is really helpful, especially if you're a first-timer and really aren't that up on babies, what they need, and where to find it all.

Summary: In the top 5 baby how-to books -- get it or give it!
Review: I am certain Baby Bargains is one of the few books we read and dogeared from cover to cover. It was especially valuable for our first child, where like all first parents you have no idea what you really need, let alone which brand to buy. Among the best advice was what not to buy if we didn't want it, such as a changing table. Though not always on the mark (I think that baby wipe warmer it said we had to have turned out to be a little silly!), the book concrete, specific discussion of brands and practical considerations were invaluable. A great baby gift!

Review: I highly highly HIGHLY recommend picking up a copy of the book "Baby Bargains" - ESPECIALLY if you're a first-time parent-to-be. It is an essential guide to the overwhelming number of choices when it comes to "baby gear." The book provides guidance on what to look for in cribs, car seats, strollers, baby furniture, etc. as far as safety and ease of use. It clues you in to handy helpful items you probably have not thought, or heard, of. Provides an "A B C D" rating on lots of brands. Points out items that are probably a waste of money. Provides contact info on where you can find the stuff. The first time I walked into Babies R Us I was absolutely overwhelmed. I knew I needed more guidance on what I really needed to buy and what to look for in order to make intelligent decisions and choices and avoid being sucked into the baby goods rip-off racket. "Baby Bargains" is turning out to be the perfect tool to help me select good-quality "stuff" that my baby really needs at reasonable prices. And to make intelligent decisions as to trade-offs between price and features without compromising safety. Sorry to go on, but this book ROCKS and I would be lost without it. You will save the $...cost of the book MANY times over - in time, aggravation and money!

Summary: Not Necessarily "Bargains"
Review: This book is an good resource for rating the various brands of cribs, nursery furniture, baby clothing, maternity clothing, monitors, toys, bedding, etc... While I wouldn't exactly call it a "bargain" book, it does have information that is useful when on the hunt for baby goods. Then again, you don't really want to buy the bargain baby furniture to compromise your baby's safety, it's just common sense to forgo the $1000 plus cribs that are out there and purchase something more reasonable. This book will help you determine what you deem to be reasonable for your indicated budget. It's nice in that it features all price ranges from high to low. Again, as one would expect, those that are highly recommended are in the mid to higher price range. How high you want to go is entirely up to you. There are some very obvious suggestions in how to save money, such as going to outlet stores for clothing. Overall, it contains good information nicely packed into one book. Be sure to have the most current edition!
