Review: I loved this book! I tend to research and comparison shop before purchases, but was overwhelmed with all the items I needed in preparation for our first baby. Everyone had a different opinion and I didn't even know what all I needed, let alone what brand. Once I found this book, I carried it with me everywhere. My husband called it my "baby bible." Between it and the reviews on babiesrus.com, I felt that I was able to get the best products for our first born and spent wisely. This is a must-have and I recommend it to all new mothers.

Review: Hubby and I took this book with us everywhere and dog-eared the heck out of it. We bought the Consumer Reports book first, which is a waste of money -- a very limited number of brands are compared, for example only 4 or 5 travel systems. This book will cut to the chase and educate you about brands you've never even heard of. We send it as a gift to all our friends when we find out they're expecting their first baby. An excellent resource, highly recommended!

It is easy to read and very user-friendly. I recommend this book to every new parent out there! I honestly don't know how I'd choose my car seat, baby swing, high chair, etc. etc. etc. without it.

Review: This is exactly what we were looking for - an easy to read, no-nonsense guide to what works well, what's inexpensive and what's "not good"- and the differences in those three qualities.
There's a load of baby "stuff" out there and this sorts it out.
We still use it two years later and we bought an extra copy for a friend!

Review: If you are looking for sound product ratings and advice, this is a great book. As a first time mom-to-be, I was clueless about what to buy and where to buy it. This book is great for answering those questions. Some chapters are better than others. For example, I found the chapter on cribs to be particularly helpful, the chapter on clothes much less so. However, I didn't feel like this book directed me to a lot of "bargains." Again, the chapter on baby clothes was particularly bad in this regard. Many of the retailers listed in this book are very expensive, without any difference in quality or comfort being obvious.

Overall, I highly recommend the book if you want good advice on baby products. Just don't expect to discover any great bargain hunting tips. You can probably figure most of them out for yourself.

Review: As with their other book, Bridal Bargains, the Fields have created the ultimate detailed guide to the variety of baby products out there. Yes, they will save you money, by pointing out the shoddy brands and the unnecessary products, but the book's main value is in allowing parents to compare the quality and features of many brands, more that the two or three they might find at their local baby store. Prepared parents will be less likely to say later, "if only we'd known..."
