Rating: Summary: Brilliant Life Changing Book! Review: Amelia has written a book that not only caters to people wanting to know and talk to their animals more, she gives us insight into the new physics, how the universe works and shows us that animals are far more wise and aware than we ever give them credence. She walks her talk and the book leaves you feeling much inspired to get on and learn how to talk with your furry friends and to learn a little bit more about our species, the human one! A must read. Thanks Amelia for sharing!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: Amelia Kinkade's abilities are nothing short of miraculous. I thank her for sharing her gift with readers and helping us all to become more responsible pet parents and make us more aware of how precious are animal friends are.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Hopeful, fascinating, educational Review: Amelia suggests that it's possible for us all to communicate with animals - an idea that may seem "new" to most Americans but is really "old" and well-known to Native peoples. This is the best, most articulate, and personable account of the experience, along with a comprehensive how-to on the subject. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: This book will change your life. Review: Amelia's book is a dream come true for animal lovers. I was warmed and charmed by the stories. Her encouragement that everyone can communicate with animals is more than intriguing - she provides instructions on how to accomplish this. I am now at the point of going back to practice these exercises since the first time through I couldn't stop reading long enough to try. And, I can't stop telling people about the book. It will change your life.
Rating: Summary: Our pets are our wisest (and most loving) teachers... Review: Amelia's book so eloquently spans the concepts of actually being a co-creator with God / Goddess / Divine Intelligence. You know, I'm 24 now, and for the past 10 years I've been reading metaphysical books as she mentions she had when she was younger. For many years, whenever I read or heard about how you have to "merge with God through meditation," or how "God is in all things including you," I still had that sense of "I am separate from God, I am trying to bring God into me." Recently though through my meditations and readings I have really come aware of what Deepak Chopra calls "Unity Consciousness," that... thing where we don't really end at our fingertips. Rather, we are sincerely all connected, a part of the same body of divinity! I tell my fiance this stuff and she gives me the exact same look I myself had not more than a few months ago... you just have to *experience* it, and so, when I tore through Amelia's book these past few days, I really was able to relate and follow her meaning and explanations (I feel). So her explanation of not so much moving from (a) You -> (b) Your pet, but rather (a) You -> (b) Unity Consciousness (as it were, the Divinity in all of us) -> (c) Your pet, really hammered home for me. I was saying to myself, yeah, right on! Don't try to move from yourself, move from that part of you -- the observer -- the part that is connected... *sigh* Her stories... her writing style... she made me laugh and cry more than once. I was sitting in the grubby waiting room of my local speedy-oil-change place this morning trying to hold back the tears as I read about the brave cat that was actually locked in the trunk of that car, and not locked in the garage of the "rainbow house." *sniff* I'm glad none of the macho oil-change personnel walked in. *laugh* "Me? *sniff* No, I'm fine... *sniff* Just so happy to... *sniff* have my oil changed..." :) Thank you, Amelia.
Rating: Summary: Thank You, Amelia, Rodney & All Review: Amelia's words and honest descriptions of her experiences with animal communication, meditation and inner knowing of the chakras have given me more insight than all the other books I have read so far. (And these are all my favorite subjects)She carefully and clearly defines the process as she teaches you to do what she can. I am thankful my library had this book available and now I am going to buy it for reference. Thank you, again, Amelia and Friends!!
Rating: Summary: A Rare Gem Filled with Wisdom, Heart, and Practical Tools! Review: As an author, speaker, and publisher, lots and lots and LOTS of books come before me. All kinds of books of many different qualities. It takes a really good book with wisdom, heart, and writing skill to get my attention. Straight From the Horse's Mouth really got my attention. This is a rare find! Amelia Kinkade has a gift. She can read animals' minds -- and souls. If you are a pet lover like me, you have probably spent a lot of time wondering what your dog or cat or horse or bird is really thinking and wanting. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to ask your animal friend questions and get answers, just as you would from another person? Maybe even better answers, since animals, unlike humans, are honest ALL the time. This book is a rare gem, not just for the fascinating stories Amelia shares about her own experiences with animal communication, but because she teaches you how to talk to your animal yourself. I tried the simple exercises, and they really work. Using these techniques, I asked my dog some questions about who he likes to stay with when I am gone, and he told me. Actually, I just listened. I realized that he is always broadcasting his intentions; I just have to be open to hear what he is saying. Now when we are at various choice points I tune in to him, and I get some pretty clear information. We have a whole new depth of relationship! When I read material related to psychology or spirituality, I feel for the ring of truth. The moment I opened up Straight From the Horse's Mouth, I felt that resonance loud, clear, and deep. Amelia has done her homework. She has practiced her art for a long time and built some very intuitive skills. There is no substitute for the genuine article. Most valuable to me, Amelia writes from the heart. She comes from a place of deep sincerity and total honesty. As a person, she is transparent -- nothing to hide, no pretensions; what you see is what you get. How refreshing! I trust her words and her work. She is here to learn and serve. Plus, she's a hoot! I found myself chuckling time and again at her stories. She happens to be a great writer, mostly for her utter naturalness. She has a remarkable command of language and metaphor, which keeps the book moving and absorbing. Even if I weren't interested in animal communication, I would find this to be a remarkable manual for psychic and soul development. Don't be limited by the title or the subject matter -- there is profound wisdom and insight here. You probably get the idea by now. I can't say enough wonderful things about this book. I would give it more stars than five if they let me. I am recommending it to all of my friends who have pets and love animals. I would recommend Straight from the Horse's Mouth, four paws up, to anybody who wants to develop their ability to find love, beauty, compassion, and healing in the natural world, including yourself.
Rating: Summary: Straight From The Horses Mouth Review: Dear Amelia, This is a giant thank you for your magical, funny, important book. It was like reading the book my soul would have wanted to write. I have been lucky enough to have worked in many amazing places and jobs in my life, but my heart always comes back to doing something with/for animals. In one of those life-questioning moments I bought your book and I felt like I had finally found the information and the inspiration to follow my own dream. Your book is so beautifully & joyfully written and full of very powerful and useful meditations and practical advice. In my own spiritual investigation this life I have found huge balls of growth and information in similar forms of meditations and gestalt, so was thrilled to see that is the way you work with animals. Then I looked at your reading list and saw the Joan Grant book, "Winged Pharoh." It was one of the first books my beautiful enlightened mom read to me as a kid. Thanks again. This book is a must for anyone who loves animals and wants to hear their side of the story.
Rating: Summary: Please Review: Doubt? What doubt? Please, Amelia, my third eye may be atrophing, but I'm a believer. No one has ever told me that talking to animals is silly or stupid or impossible, and if they did, I wouldn't believe them. Although I have yet to talk to an animal, I have been practicing. The meditation techniques in this book are astoundingly helpful. Every morning, I do her exercise "Shedding the Cloak of Negativity" and it opens up my mind and prepares me for the day with a light heart. My family has no pets at the moment, but we are anticipating the arrival of a small, furry creature (preferably one with large floppy ears). We are going to the zoo soon, and if what I have been practicing is correct, I have yet to discuss religion and politics with the tigers. Amelia's book has been a guide not only in conversing with animals, but in conversing with myself. I am more aware of what goes on around me and more attuned to nature and God. I have become more sensitive to animals all around me. That includes people.Thank you, Amelia.
