Summary: Helpful and Thorough
Review: A great reference guide for any beginner or intermediate student of Russian. Verbs are organized nicely as well as conjugated clearly and thoroughly. If you are a high school or college student feeling overwhelmed by the "russian verb system," buy this book and see the improvements in your compositions, reading abilities, and conversation.

Summary: It is good
Review: A must for anyone trying to learn Russia

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Useful mostly for the beginner
Review: As an earlier reviewer quite rightly states, once the rules of verb conjugation are learnt, this books usefulness becomes more of a "lazy persons russian verb conjugator".

However, I still purchased it, primarily because of helping me master conjugation by "visualizing" the tables. Russian Verb conjugation isn't Rocket science, but it's still a pain to learn.

If this book consisted of totally irregular verbs it would be extremely useful though and perhaps a better choice for an intermediate russian student.

Thus definitely recommended for a beginning serious Russian student but will be outgrown once you gain confidence.

Summary: Don't listen to the other reviews!
Review: Don't listen to the other reviews that say this book is not helpful...because if you are a student of Russian, it definitely is! As a matter of fact, any serious student of Russian already owns this book because Russian verbs are so complicated, this book is a necessity to look up all of their conjugations. Without this reference you would just be guessing what the verbs forms are because there is no consistent pattern or trick to Russian verbs. That's why they wrote this book because you just need to look them up and memorize them. This is not something that you only need at the beginning, but it is useful even for more advanced speakers of Russian as well.

Summary: If you want to learn Russian, skip this book!
Review: Five years ago as a beginner student I found this book to be totally inadequate. Don't buy it! Instead buy "A Dictionary of Russian Verbs" by Daum and Schenk (Hippocrane Books). My book has 20,000 in all declinations with examples of usage. Conact me if you have questions about the book. email: gerryd36@hotmail.com

Summary: Brilliant, easy to use and comprehensive
Review: I find this book brilliant - it contains the majority of verbs that anyone studying Russian could ever need. The layout is simple, yet clear and concise, and provides not only the standard conjugations, but also information on participles, gerunds etc.. An additional line at the bottom of the page gives the case that should follow each verb. The book is a godsend.

Summary: A Valuable Reference Book
Review: I have owned this book for several years, and have often found it invaluable. It provides complete conjugations, and is easy to use. It is only limited to 501 verbs, but it contains most of the commonly used verbs. It does not, however, give any examples of verb usage, which would often prove helpful. Still, it is a valuable book to have.

Summary: oh how handy!
Review: i would have failed miserably at attempting to learn the more complicated parts of the russian language, like verb aspect, if it weren't for this handy and inexpensive reference. it is ideal for the student of the language, i would say, for about the first 5 years of learning. it is handy afterwards, but makes it especially easy for someone who's not exactly an expert in the russian language. do sveedanya!
