Review: This book includes many facets of the true language of people who are Deaf that titles such as "The Joy of Signing" do not. I found it easy to learn from in my first ASL class 10 years ago and still refer to it occasionally.

Review: This is one of the best sign language books I have ever been able to find. It not only gives thunbnails of the signs but also offers a history and look into the culture of ASL. Originally I purchased this book as a text book in college, where the course followed the order of the book, beginning with basic signs and advancing to more complex. Now a few years later I ordered it beacuse it is so easy to use, Although the book is not alphabetized from front to back there is a glossary in the back for easy reference. I also like the fact that it is ring bound so it lays flat on the table.
