Summary: Super Insight To The Superstar Speakers!
Review: Lilly has successfully captured the essense of who these superstar speakers are on and off the stage. Her interviews give us insight into how the motivators stay motivated, why they do what they do and some valuable speaking tips from the masters themselves. I found the book a fun read that motivates the reader to want to climb on stage and join in. Great job once again Lilly! You and your mother Dottie are the experts when it comes to understanding and teaching about the world of professional speaking.

Summary: A Good Read!
Review: Lilly Walters focuses on the success stories of 19 top speakers and their hints for speaking well. She highlights their backgrounds, turning points and key sayings, and then provides tips on becoming a top speaker using their methods for developing and giving effective presentations. Hearing what these speakers say about the principles of good speechmaking is interesting, but their "insider" tips are pretty obvious, even to an outsider. Most of their advice is widely known within the speaking industry and is presented here repetitively. Don't be put off by the "read this resume" nature of the initial introductions, because they put the speakers in context and show their success. We [...] recommend this book to virgin public speakers or those who want a refreshing booster, to those who book big-name talkers, or to those who like to read recreationally about celebrities and their ideas.

Summary: ACCESS TO FAMOUS PEOPLE
Review: There is no central theme to this book. Through the authors access to famous people you get the flavor of an amazing number of interesting people. It is presented in a way is easy to read and frequently shallow. That is there is no penetrating analysis or boiling down of central themes. It is never really said in plain language, on reflection the message might be: If you are going to charge money for speaking you had better be extremely knowledgeable about your subject and able to provide insight and clarity. If you are famous speaking for money works, massive amounts of work is ahead if you are not. The book is great for reading in short pieces because it is so disjointed.

Summary: From the Speakers Themselves
Review: What I like most about Lily's book is that she takes the words right from the speakers. She goes into their personal experiences and lessons, and records their own feelings about these experiences. She gives a story from Tony Robbins about how he got started, and it's actually fairly informative. I haven't seen this story anywhere else, and I've read a fair amount of his material. I personally would like to hear as much as possible from the actual speakers, since they are obviously the ones out there living the lessons. Lily's contacts and research make this a valuable and interesting book.
