Summary: Excellent Dictionary for the Visually Impaired Children
Review:

I bought this dictionary for my daughter, who has Retinitus Pigmentosa (a degenerative retinal disorder). I looked specifically for Large or Giant print dictionaries. This one carries the NAVH seal of approval.

The typeface is clean and crisp, so she is able to read this dictionary without a magnifying glass. The words are in boldface, so she can quickly scan the pages for her words. The definitions are short and simple, more well suited for an elementary or middle school child. My daughter is in High School, so I would have liked somewhat more detailed definitions.

Good Points
-----------
+ Large, clean print my daughter can actually use!
+ Relatively inexpensive
+ Durable color hardcover binding with color jacket
+ Concise and simple definitions are well-suited for elementary to middle school aged children.

Bad points
----------
- Definitions are barely adequate for high school students and not at all suited for college students (Buy a Collegiate dictionary instead)

Summary: Too basic
Review: Found this dictionary to be too basic. I already knew the meaning of most of the words listed.

Summary: Dyslexia life saver!!!
Review: My daughter has severe dyslexia. We were at a standstill about how she could look up vocabulary words. I found this dictionary, and the clarity of the pages was just what she needed. Let's face it, a real dictionary has too many definitions on one page. That means itty print, too hard for those with learning disabilities. Having clear, uncluttered definitions allow my daughter to write the definitions without getting the brain fatigue that comes from trying to focus too much. Her school has ordered this dictionary for all it's elementary classrooms, and it is a BIG hit. This is NOT a children's dictionary, but it is a dictionary that my daughter will use through high school I am sure.
