Rating: Summary: Excellent Reading Review: As one who has read the material in Dr. McClure's first edition, I would advise anyone interested in establishing his/her place where they rightfully belong to read the second edition. The first addition has a wealth of information. This second can be no less!
Rating: Summary: The best Cherokee Ancestry tracing guide I've ever seen. Review: Both of the Cherokee Proud editions( this one and the new 336 page 2nd edition which just came out in Dec. 1998- and also sold here by Amazon) provide everything anyone tracing their Cherokee bloodlines needs to document their ancestry. If the information contained in these books doesn't provide the help needed, nothing can!

Rating: Summary: Very informative on finding your Cherokee ancestors. Review: I find this book informative on finding your Cherokee ancestors as well as making you feel proud of your heritage. It makes you want to learn more about being a Cherokee and honoring your cherokee family. From this book I have learned many things but most of all I learned of my Cherokee heritage and I am very proud of being a Cherokee. Good work Tony McClure.
Rating: Summary: Cherokee Proud - Tony Mack MCCLURE, Ph.D. Book Review Review: I just rec'd the this book and after only flipping through just a few pages on my great grandmother's MCCLURE lines, I'm impressed! Not only am I looking forward to reading this book but I plan on using it for future reference, as I see a few made at the end of one of the chapters and I haven't even read thru it yet - and can not wait! Thank you Dr. Tony MCCLURE. You did your homework because you know your homework. Buy this book! You will not be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: Proud Review: I think the title says it all... great book if you want to learn about your Cherokee past.
Rating: Summary: Gets right to the heart of being Cherokee Review: If you're looking for your Cherokee roots, this concise and clear prose on how and where to do it is a vital tool. For anyone seeking a spiritual connection to the Cherokee soul I also recommend WALKING THE TRAIL by Jerry Ellis which chronicles his 900 mile walk along the Trail of Tears.
Rating: Summary: A "must have" for Cherokee descendants and researchers Review: Quite possibly the most comprehensive collection of resources available for finding your Cherokee ancestors. The best I have seen for me to recommend to people for learning the history and culture of our Cherokee ancestors. It contains many previously neglected sources for further researching yet all is presented in a friendly, helpful manner. Almost like visiting over a cup of coffee with Dr. Tony Mack McClure as he shares his ancestral heritage.
