Summary: An essential book for all bilingual Spanish learners!
Review: No matter what level of Spanish you are at this book is essential for all bilingual learners. It will help you with over 500 of the most common verb conjugations. At the bottom of each page you can also learn the most comment uses for the verb you are looking up. As well, the book offers a basic dictionary and grammar guideline. Even advanced Spanish learners will find this book helpful especially for writing compositions. If I was giving this book a grade it would receive an A+ for its usefulness and ease of use.

Summary: Excellent
Review: What a book should be. The only shortcoming is that no sentence is given using the verb. There are expressions using related words but no expressions using the verb. It is always helpful to understand the context within which a word is used, but that is not given.

Summary: 501 Spanish Verbs: Fully Conjugated....
Review: If you have a pretty good basic vocabulary of Spanish, this book is EXCELLENT for reference when you need to speak about the past or future tenses of a verb (which is my biggest weakness!!).

I use is constantly.

Summary: More for writers than speakers but ....
Review: This book is an exhaustive listing of *ALL* of the various tenses of 501 commonly used Spanish verbs. I recently spoke with a Spanish educator and he informed me that for all practical purposes, most Spanish speakers use about "10% of the tenses" and the rest are hardly ever used. But if you were writing or reading a novel in Spanish, then the other tenses could be useful.

Summary: Spanish Student's Dream
Review: This book is amazing. It helps me with my spanish homework, understanding verb tenses and usage. I wish that I would have had it for my first five years of study!

Summary: Best Spanish Learning Aid Ever
Review: I have been teaching Spanish at the University level for over 8 years. I purchased this book while I was an undergraduate and have had it by my side ever since; through graduate school and now in my office and as a refence on my course syllabi. There is no better verb refence book out there that is more concise, better organized with more idioms and supplimental information. This is a must have for the student or afficionado of the Spanish language.

Summary: Very helpful way of learning..
Review: Firstly I'll get the bad points over with:
1- The books isn't the most convenient size in the world. I find it quite annoying to be carrying around when going somewhere.
2- Unless I knew differently I could of used the vosotros form in my Spanish course work for a teacher in Mexico (in England where I live we only learn the castellano form of Spanish). There's no indication in the book that vosotros is not used in any other country except Spain.
3- There wasn't really much point in having so many verbs packed into one book! What most books do is choose about 50 then there is a long list of other verbs and which 'example verb' they are the same as. Do you understand that?

Anyway, that's the bad stuff, which isn't really bad. Here's the good points:
1- It's one of the most informative books around without being boring!
2- There is a big section at the end with loadsa vocabulary that is essential.
3- There's a phrase section and there's a bit about idioms, which every non-native speaker gets confused with.
4- It clearly explains what each verb type is! There seems to be so many different ways to say "I read" or "I did read" or "I was reading" etc.. and it explains it really well here!

This book definately rates high in my Spanish collection and is an essential if you are serious about learning the language as an 'outta school thing'.

Summary: Must-have for everyone
Review: This book is one of the best books to get whether learning Spanish or reviewing it. Spanish verbs are always so confusing for learners but this book makes it so much easier to understand. I was in Puerto Rico for a time and several of my companions used this book and found it to be very helpful. We were there as missionaries without any much training in the language but this book helped so much and when we all left we could speak the language without difficulty. I recommend this for all those learning Spanish, whether they are beginners or are majoring in the language.

Summary: Handy for the Fluent and the Beginner Alike
Review: "501 Spanish Verbs" is one of those handy, though necessary dictionaries for students of Spanish, especially those in the beginning of their studies.

The key beauty of this one is not so much the verb selection. You can find those elsewhere. No, it is in the organization. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the difference the way it is alphabetized. I'm a long way from fluent, and am barely able to understand a little of the Spanish TV station here in Chicago, but a dictionary like this makes it easier.

The inclusion of idioms is useful as well, as the editors realize real-life language acquistion requires idioms in context.

I fully recommend "501 Spanish Verbs."
