Rating: Summary: This is the book you need Review: This book is an incredibly comprehensive approach to the LSAT "games" section. Whereas other books give you broad tips on how to tackle the games, this book tells you how to handle every type of game the LSAT offers, what type of diagram to use, where to draw your diagram, and how to move quickly. If you are willing to work hard to do better on the games section, but are unclear about how to accomplish it, this is the book you need. There are clearly people out there who find the LSAT "games" section a breeze, but I'm not one of them. I tried a couple of the other books and am even taking a Princeton Review class, but nothing is as good as this book.
Rating: Summary: Thank You, PowerScore! Review: This book is awesome. Between the Logic Games Bible and the PowerScore weekend course, I went from a 155 to a 167! Beware of there competitors posting bad reviews - one company bashed the book when I called to ask about LSAT classes. I would recommend this book to anyone taking the LSAT.
Rating: Summary: A serious book for anyone seeking serious LSAT scores Review: This book is extremley comprehensive in every respect... But if you are smart enough to begin your LSAT preperation a few months ahead of time--and are willing to work [hard]--then this book will do the trick. It helped me score a 179 in February. Before purchasing the Logic Games Bible, I took KAPLAN's $1000 classroom course... Right away, I knew "The Bible" was going to be better than KAPLAN because it used the commonsense approach of setting up games BELOW the questions (where there's actually room to write). In every respect, The Bible provides a more systematic and organized approach to setting up games than does KAPLAN. Having The Bible's more diciplined and systematic approach to setting up and solving the games proved invaluable on test day. I finished all four games with 9 minutes to spare. You should have seen the confused looks I got when, after only 26 minutes into the Logic Games section, I put my pencil down, raised my hand, and asked to go to the restroom! Their system paid off. Agian, this book will deliver the goods--but like most things in life, you'll only get out of it what you put into it.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This book is intended for those not afraid of studying hard over several weeks to really nail down the logic games section. It is very comprehensive and detailed.
Rating: Summary: Good for Basics Review: This book is okay if you are totally bewildered by the games section. However, this book does not help much with timing. The book isn't good for preparing for games with few restrictive rules in them. The last few pages of the book is how newer games are constructed. Paradoxially the info is skimpy towards the end of the book. It seems like the book just needs to be updated and a little less self congratulating.
Rating: Summary: Save yourself $45 Review: This book will be a total waste of your money. It is over-priced and poorly written. Preparing LSAT with this book and taking a course given by Power Score are two different things. By the time you are done going through all the pages in this book, you will have so many rules in your head, in addition to the rules that you have to deal with when you actually try to solve the logic questions, you will be completely bogged down. Don't waste your money. Even more importantly, you will get a poor LSAT score if you use this book. Take my word for it. I used it for two months to prepare for the logic section.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for preparation Review: This is a must have you can learn so much yourself pay attention to the contrapositive.
Rating: Summary: Invaluable LSAT Preparation Review: This publication should be your second purchase for LSAT preparation only after buying "10 Actual" "10 More Actual" and "The Next 10 Actual" from the Law School Admissions Council. "Logic Games Bible" delineates what is necessary to know about the notoriously difficult Logic Games section of the LSAT. It gives real examples, incisive insight, and rules that are easy to memorize and follow. After each example there is a 2-3 page question-by-question explanation. To score well on the LSAT, you must effuse confidence from every orifice; don't find yourself diffident on test day. Get the Logic Games Bible as soon as you can.
Rating: Summary: Keep your eye on the clock! Review: While some of the tricks are useful, others just make things more confusing. The game setups took a long time and although they sometimes worked OK, more often than not they really slowed me down. Even worse: I only finished half the logic games section before I ran out of time. I do NOT want this to happen when I take the LSAT. I've found some of the other books take simpler approaches which are far easier to learn. That's where I would spend my money.
Rating: Summary: AMAZING Review: Words cannot describe the benefits this book provided me with. I wrote the June 2003 LSAT and scored a 147. I am writing again in October, so I am currently studying. I decided to write the June lsat again after going through this whole book. I have done 2 sections, including the games, and still have 2 to go. I already have my 147 beat. I am at a 154, assuming I dont do any better on the next 2 sections. AMAZING.
