Rating: Summary: for german tanks Excellant refurence Review: A well thought out and well written source of the German armored fighting vehicles of the second world war. An excellenat source of refurence. My only complaints in it are that it is all in metric, and there for difficult to compare tank for tank with the tanks of the United States and Britain. And it provides no refurence on the abilities of German tank armament, unlike thecompanion volume British and American Tanks of World War Two. I enjoyed this book.
Rating: Summary: GIVE ME A BREAK1 Review: As an afficionado of the Wehrmacht for a long time, this is a no-brainer review. I bought the hard cover edition many, many, moons ago; the thing is falling apart. As a reference source, this book has no second best in the English language. Dealing with all ARMORED vehicles, wheeled and tracked---this is it. Don't even look elsewhere, unless you read and speak German.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best .. Review: As an Armour enthousiast and a former Armored infantry man, I have a number of books about German armours in World War II, however, this book is definitely one of the best one. Furthermore, Authors are best experts in this subject. they explain each tanks' brief histories, specific features and combat services.Despite it's brief representation of each single tank and deficiency of diagram .This book deserves high compliment due to its relatively low price and quite useful appendices which explain tank armament ,engine, armourammunition, optical equiment and radio equipment with numerous photos.First edition was printed 1977 and it 's still in print. if you find this book (it's not easy to find in a local book store)in a book store ,Buy it . you won't regret
Rating: Summary: Mile wide and a foot deep Review: buy this book!!! This is a must for anyone intrested in german armoured warfare. The pictures, the technical details - everything is covered, from A to Z. Amazing work by the authors.

Rating: Summary: An indispensable model-building reference Review: For the avid tank model-builder, this book is an absolute must! It has every make and model of tank, half-track, armored car, and SP gun the Germans ever used during WW2, including updated details and production numbers for each one. The photographs are also a terrific help.
Rating: Summary: Comprehensive, Complete, Organized, & Informative Review: I am a game player who plays WWII Online, and I was interested in learning more about the Panzers of the German army during WWII. Before buying this book, I had no idea about the tanks Germany used except that one of them was called a Tiger. Now, I know more than most people who play the game. This book is simply amazing. It's extradinary organization goes to show you just how professionally written this book is. It shows every Panzer model from Panzer I to Panzer VI and then some! It contains armor penetration values, optical equipment, radio equipment, and ammunition equipment diagrams that give you a good deal of information. Its comprehensive and easy to follow lay out is quite powerful for anybody wanting to know the specs of any german tank. The depth of the articles about each tank is the only negative aspect however (if you really want to call it negative), which is both good and bad. Like some books that ramble on and on, this book skips the b.s. and tells you the facts. I'm not talking about Tank specifications (they are quite indepth, and use the same format for every tank), I'm talking about the text that goes with the specifications. Still not bad enough to take a star off though :). Definately worth your money!
Rating: Summary: A Classic of Classics Review: I have been searching for this book (1st Ed. 1978) for some time and finally this new edition came out. If you are interested in German Tanks of WWII, or in military scale modelling, this book can provide you with invaluable information. This book is one of its kind!
