Summary: If you want to pass the AFOQT
Review: I was looking for a good study guide to help me prepare for the AFOQT and was recommended this study guide. The complete AFOQT practice exam contained in it is dead on with the actual exam. If you take the study guide tests under timed conditions, it will greatly prepare you for passing the AFOQT on your first try. I scored a 92 out of a possible 99 on the pilot composite. It also contains excellent information for the Army, Navy, & Marine flight tests as well.

Summary: Not A Good Book
Review: Im active duty Air Force so take it from me. If youre really serious about becoming a pilot, dont rely on this book. Buy more books and study hard. Take a Math refresher course if you have to.

Maybe Im just not good at these tests... I dont know. I took the Air Force AFOQT twice (youre only allowed to take it twice). The first time I scored REALLY low. I bought this book along with other books to prepare for the second test but it didnt made any difference. I also have the Officer Candidate Test book and that book didnt help me either. I did everything to prepare but my scores... Urghh!!!

Majority of the folks that do well on this test are graduates (fresh out of highschool or college) because the material is still fresh in their brain. If you are active duty military (enslisted) trying to cross into the officer corps, then you would have to be a good test taker because its a percentage game.

Im not trying to be negative and all. In fact I know some people who didnt even read a book to prepare, matter of fact this guy I knew was drunk the night before he took the test and his scores were in the 80s accross the board. I mean how crazy is that? Its a percentage game is what it is. If majority of the folks taking the test with you score really high, then your chances of making it is grim. So before you take the test, look around the test room and if you see folks that look like Bill Gates or that Dexter kid, tell the proctor that youre not feeling well and you want to re-schedule.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not really worth it
Review: The only reason why I give this book 2 stars is because it will still give you a feel for the format of the test. The answers in the back can be wrong- and often times are. It's pretty frustrating when you are absolutely certain that you are right, yet the book is telling you you're not. Unfortunately there are not many books on the market to help you prepare for this test. So, if you must, buy this book. But beware...answers cannot always be trusted.

Summary: TBC
Review: The practice tests in this book are right on. I passed the Naval Aviation Selection Test Battery on my first try. My pilot composite scores were very high. If you are thinking of taking these tests, you must have this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Preparing for the AFAST
Review: this book has helped point out my areas of weakness in preparing for the AFAST. now i know exactly what i need to study and which areas i need to concentrate on to improve my speed and accuracy in answering.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Book
Review: This book helped me score a Pilot/NFO slot for the Navy; however, this book does contain a few errors so stay sharp when you are studying for the test. Also keep in mind that there are three different tests in this booklet. This booklet concentrates more on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test. Do not think this book alone will help you score high. You also need to review basic aerodynmics, aviation and nautical navigation, parts of a plane, and parts of a ship (for navy and marine flight aptitude battery). This book is great for mathematics and verbal preparation. I think its worth the money.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: High hopes
Review: This book is a good starting point, but it doesn't fully prepare you for the Naval Aviation Selection Test Battery. The actual exam is much more difficult than the practice test in the book. In particular, the Spacial Apperception section of the exam differs in format from the samples in the book. Use this book, but also use the materials provided by your officer recruiter to study or you will be sorry.

Summary: Great for the ASTB!
Review: This book offers exact examples found on the test. Using this book as a reference in conjunction with other math books gave me a score beyond what I was expecting.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A good idea of what to expect
Review: This book will give you a good idea of what to expect during the AFOQT, but the amount of mistakes in this book is unexcusable. Do not trust the answers given!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a great test prep...I should know
Review: This is a great book for preparing for the AFOQT. I was spooling up for a military pilot slot and took the Marine Corps flight test cold and did not do very well. I got this book before taking my first choice service (Air Force) flight test. I did quite well, that was back in '97, and I graduated USAF pilot training in Nov of '99. Take the practice tests under timed conditions. Just having seen the type of quesitons they ask having a feel for the time constraints of each section was a big help.
