Rating: Summary: German in 10 Minutes a Day Review: This is a wonderful book. It uses picture associations and I think that will be helpful to me in learning German for our trip. It is a very simple way to learn German. I have several pc German language programs but none are as easy as this. Hubby is German and it helps having other German help also.

Rating: Summary: Useless Review: This summer, I spent seven weeks in Germany and took this book with me to learn as I go. Big mistake. I spent most of my time in the company of German-speaking friends who all seemed to think the book was horrible. After doing a few exercises myself, I came to agree. One of the hardest things to remember in German is article use and it is possibly the worst explained page in the book, since I didn't finish it, I don't know. For vocabulary, I suppose it's tough to beat with pictures, stickers, cut-outs, etc. But if you want to put a sentence together, find something else! No one beats NTC for language learning. I was originally going to buy "Conversational German in 7 Days", which is an excellent simple starter, with tapes, but I couldn't order it in time. (I tested it at the library first.) Stick to NTC, their "Ultimate French Review" and English writing books are perfect.
