Summary: OK, but......
Review: From the title, you'd think that this was the best book out there. But there were all kinds of things on the SAT-II exams that were NEVER in this book, especially on the Math IC and IIC exams, so maybe they should call it "Kind of Real SAT-IIs". I think that's because first of all there's only one test per subject (that's too expensive, also) the tests in this book are like 7-10 years old, and had probably been used for many years in a row before they were put in this book, so they're really about 15 years old. Maybe they could put a new one out? Anyway, I used the Princeton Review book for the Math Tests, and it went over all the topics that showed up, 100%, so I don't know about other books but that one seemed to work better for me.

Summary: WOW!
Review: I looked for this book everywhere in the United Arab Emirates but they never have purchased books published by the College Board!
Anyways I have received the book on time before the SAT II i took on the 4th of this month. What can i say, its one of a kind. It really helped me practice the REAL SAT II once and for all before the BIG one and does not let you get anxious when the BIG ONE is set upon your table.
I would like to thank amazon.com for supply me the book and college board for publishing it.
For those giving SAT II Maths 2C, do try the 1C paper. It will be quiet useful....

Summary: Very Helpful, But Probably Not Worth Buying...
Review: I used this book to help me out for my SAT II tests for Writing, Physics, and Math Level IIc. The practice tests in this book are actual SAT II tests used in previous years. I found the difficulty level and types of questions in this book to be very close to the actual test. This was a good thing because I used practice tests in other books that were much more difficult than the real thing as well as online tests that were much too easy.

However, I must warn you, it probably will not be worth your money to actually purchase this book. The tests are excellent but there is only ONE TEST for each subject so it may not be worth buying, especially if you only are taking one or two tests. Also I should note that the answers are given but there are no explanations.

You are better off trying to borrow this book from your library or school. It may be wiser to buy a subject-specific book for each individual test you are taking, although for some of the less-taken tests this may be the only help you can find.

Summary: Don't buy this.
Review: Since the 10 Real SAT I was really great, i decided this book must be the same, right? WRONG. It's nothing like the Real SAT I. It's poop, don't buy it. Yes, it has practice tests with real SAT 2 questions, but unlike its predecessor, there is only ONE test for EACH SUBJECT. The reason the book is so thick looking isn't because it has a whole bunch of honking information or tests, but because it literally covers EVERY STINKING SUBJECT offered by the SAT 2. For each subject, there is basic (and i mean BASIC) info like how long the test is, how many questions etc.. But there is almost NO information on the actual CONTENT of the tests. There's a couple of shoddy practice questions in the beginning of the section, and no detailed explanation of the answers. Then there is a total of...drum roll...ONE stinking practice test for your chosen subject. At the end, you don't even get half-assed answer explanations like before. In fact, you get NO explanations at all. They don't even really tell you how hard the questions are. In short, this book is really great if you are taking ALL 20+ SAT 2 SUBJECTS. If, like most people, you are not, then don't buy the book. Collegeboard is evil.

Summary: An excellent study tool
Review: The book delivers what it promises: real SAT II tests that have been administered in recent years. Real SAT II: Subject Tests is great as a score predictor for the actual exams. The brief review for each subject included is trivial, so I would highly recommend using a study book specialized for the particular subject(s) you are taking in conjunction with this book. The price is a bit steep for only one test per subject, but I believe it is worth it, especially if you plan on taking multiple SAT IIs.

Note: A full SAT II Biology E/M exam is now included along with the book. It comes shrinkwrapped with the actual book.

Summary: Not enough number of examples
Review: This book contains 22 past actual SAT II administrations in all of the 18 subjects. It is unequivocally a must source for those studying for the SAT II; very useful for timed, full-length mock tests to conduct on your own.

Summary: It's exactly what they say it is
Review: This book delivers what it promises -- real SAT IIs. It was helpful to take a real test to gauge how I would do on the real test. The questions were similar but there is so much material in each subject that some of the content was different. However on the bio, I found a few questions that were almost exactly the same.

The main problem I had with this book was that it only has 1 test for each subject. Since I only took 3 tests, most of the book was wasted. This book cannot be used alone to review. Its only purpose is to give you an idea of what the test is gonna be like.

Summary: This is GREAT!
Review: This book does what it says: it gives you one complete REAL SAT II test on every single subject EXCEPT Biology and Korean. Since many people take the Bio E/M test these days, this book is marred by the fact that it doesn't have a complete Bio E/M test (only half and not "REAL") and they seem to be easier than the actual test I took.

But otherwise, on all the other subjects, this book gives you a test that was actually used before. Plus, it gives you the scales for the particular tests, answers and difficulty of the question (no explanations though).

If you are buying this book for the language SAT II's with listening, you can get the tapes for free by sending the attached postcard to College Board. You should get it because the price you paid for the book includes the tapes and if you don't have the tapes you can't do the listening tests. Request beforehand since they take a few weeks to ship.

These book gives you the confirmation of whether you know the stuff or not after you finish your study program. From then on you can work on your weak spots or sit back and relax as you've done well on the practice (don't get too cocky though =) as the SAT 2 tests change slowly but gradually over time, and so the practice might be considerably different from the one you actually take).

Take this from someone who's got 800 on two SAT 2 tests, and 790, 770, 740, 730, and 700 on 5 others.

Oh and one more thing: before each test, there's a brief description with an outline of the topics tested and several sample questions of each question type for the specific subject. For the writing test, there is a sample topic and 6 essays with the 6 different scores on that topic (this topic is NOT the one on the REAL test--so you get 2 topics in the book for practice!)
