Review: "Godwin's Cabalistic Encyclopedia" truly is an encyclopedia of Hermetic (Rosicrucian, Ogdoadic, and Thelemic) Qabalah. Although I'm sceptical of the true spiritual possibilities of the Qabalah, it does interest me after a fashion- it's a fascinating model from which to see life and ideas, working in an almost "gamelike" framework based on the Hebrew language and mathematical structure. This book is a sourcebook for experienced qabalists. It is of little use to the beginner, however- I'd recommend Kraig's "Modern Magick" as an introduction to Qabalistic magic before jumping into the study of this volume.

Review: I have been practicing the craft for (sigh!) loooong time. Godwin's book gave my spells the necessary spark to get them fly ! I would seriously suggest you get it; not easy for beginners but a sure source of information.

Review: If your in to ignoring most of the Jewish character and teachings of the Kabbalah, then this book is for you. Compounding the problem by adding in a work by crowley is just the crown. ANyone who knows hebrew will tell you that this is not the book for you or anyone.

Review: If your in to ignoring most of the Jewish character and teachings of the Kabbalah, then this book is for you. The Hebrew is forced and mistranslated or miswritten in places. The problem is compounded by the inclusion of a work by Crowley with even worse Hebrew. I won't even mention Crowley's 2 page anti-Semitic rant as Amazon will not post my review if I do. Anyone who knows Hebrew will tell you that this is not the book for you or anyone.

Summary: Its not about accuracy, its about who we are as a collective
Review: Other then the fact that the claim mister Gidwin Made, about not needing any prievious knowledge, was false, I still belive this to be a most usfull book. For me anyway. What most people forget when ranking or critisizing a book or system of Magick, is that the ANCUENT-ness of the book is not important. It doesnt matter at all how old Godwins hebrew spellings are, or if they are PERFECTLY correct. It is important that you learn to corresond things as he teaches briefly in his work here. It is important that you learn to research for yourslef, for we are all human and are subject to mistakes, especially in the spelling of thousands of year old words. The Key word here is, " WORK", and without the nessisary ritual and contemplative work youll never know FOR YOUR SELF. Not by what a man said, or even a 2ooo year dead man, but by experience. I belive this book helps those who would like to delve into the occult find and use some of the contents which is most commonly needed to do so. Well With that i must leave with the old and worn out, but still very true, " Know thy self, and in knowing thy self you will know your creator".

Review: The Serious student of the Cabala will find this reference indespensible. The Gemantric aspects of this book make it worth while, with corispondences. with Sigils tunnels of SET, 72 God Names, etc. etc. This reference is a excellent reference for any Gematria.

Review: This book has almost everything,I feel that this book is a wonderfull book full of little odds and ends that every student needs.It even pronounces most of the names for you(as accurate as anyone can get in a book)I mean this book for one, is thick and is meant for the use of serious students,It's not full of rituals,it's full of the things you need to do complex magick with(symbols,etc.)It's a must own...
