Summary: the way of the law.
Review: The book of the law is a book that will have littel meaning to most people. Ocullt people will try to understand that which is written but no one will really understand what is said, the main problem is that the study of the book is forbiden. the book states that you such distory the book. the book is in the form of a pome with numbered lines, also typeing or speaking about the book of the law is forbiden so typeing this review can be bad for your well being, or so they say. This book was dictatied to crowley by the god aiwass and if your in to that kind of thing then this book is for you, but remember not to take crowley or yourself to serious. Do what thow will this is the hole of the law. Email to spack to me about Crowley. Okay amado.

Summary: Most ingenius book thus far written.
Review: A whirling Void of Electricity has transmitted this book! It describes the Law of Thelema - the prophesies, that for the next 2,000 years, We must conquer the slave-gods' limitations, imposed on more than half of humanity's greatest minds. We must break the chain that the gravitational-pull of Earthly life creates: the Egyptians gave Us Pyramidal-Instructions of the Key to return to Sirius from whence We came. The time has come for War: We shall kill the advocates of the slave-gods! and none shall stand: that is, Horus!

Summary: The Book Of The Law is controversial and often misunderstood
Review: As you can tell from the other reviews of this book, it provokes a wide range of reactions from its readers. To some it's an idol; to others, a comic book. The book itself says, "The fool readeth this Book of the Law, and its comment; & he understandeth it not. Let him come through the first ordeal, & it will be to him as silver. Through the second, gold. Through the third, stones of precious water. Through the fourth, ultimate sparks of the intimate fire. Yet to all it shall seem beautiful. Its enemies who say not so, are mere liars." I would suggest that no one buy this book unless they are prepared to find it either disappointing or transformative.

Summary: read, and unlock the secrets of the new aeon
Review: This book rightly proclaims the arrival of the aeon of Horus. Read. Learn the rules and the most important (and only) Law in existence. After reading this, who could doubt the genius of Aleister Crowley? Read, darn you. Read; learn; understand!

Summary: An Altarpiece
Review: The two foregoing reviews should be reason enough to read Liber AL vel Legis for oneself. It simply demands a personal interpretation. Even so, if the reader requires some explanation of what it all means, and the circumstances of its creation, they would be better to get their hands on The Equinox of the Gods, which also contains Liber Legis in its entirety. This edition is best reserved for the Altars & Magickal workings of Thelemites.

Summary: A Cheap Copy of Rabelais
Review: This little book has been regarded as one of the most important manuals of the western occult tradition even though at it's base it is little more than a cheap copy of Rabelais' philosophy, first iterated over a hundred years before Crowley was deceived into thinking that he had channelled a spirit called "Aiwass" who supposedly dictated the book to him. Even so, there is little doubt that Crowley beleived that this was an important event in his life; he subsequently based his entire existence upon the premise of the book. Apparently even he was not aware of the place where he had nicked the "do what thou wilt" philosophy. The books use of imagery and the overall style are quiet striking, and do make for interesting speculation. This volume is the true source of LaVey's "Satanic Bible" along with Mencken's "Treatise on the God's" and Nietzsche's "Antichrist".

Summary: The new Aeon is here.
Review: This is a profound document received by the prophet, Aleister Crowley, in 1904. It tells of the new Aeon of Horus and His Law, which is: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." "Love is the Law, love under will." "There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt." It is a true guide to discovering Light, Life, Love, and Liberty. Within its pages holds the keys to philosophy, government, and individual enlightenment. Its mysteries are to be sought only by the individual, with the writings of the Master Therion as a possible guide. "Every man and every woman is a star."

Summary: A book worth two looks
Review: I highly recommend this work to any Magick and/or Crowley enthusiast. Many of Crowley's slogans have found their origin in this peculiar little book (such as "Do what thou wilt..."). The bulk consists of three chapters dictated over a period of three days by a 'higher intelligence'(Aiwass)through automatic writing. Though on-line versions are available, this is a nice little gem to hold on to. This hard-cover edition also includes a rare copy of the original manuscript.

I also recommend the reader approach this book with a serious mind and draw their own conclusion. And PLEASE disregard the bigots, for ye shall deny yourself a wealth of information!

Summary: -The- Revealed Text for the 20th Century
Review: The Book of the Law is without a doubt the most important revealed text to be released to the public in the 20th Century. Crowley was a fascinating individual, and the Book of the Law was the pinnacle of his magical written work. If you want to see what a real revealed text looks like, definetely check this one out, you can't go wrong.
I recently read another revealed text, 'Memetic Magic' by Kirk Packwood, which I have to admit compared in quality to the Book of the Law. It may well turn out to be the 21st Century equivalent of the magical revealed text. Check this one out too.

Summary: Holy Book of The New Aeon -- "received" by Aleister Crowley
Review: This Holy Book of The New Aeon -- "received" by Aleister Crowley, circa 1904 (ev: "era vulgara"--commonly known as "ce"), was created by Aleister Crowley under circumstances which may have been "automatic writing," "channeling" or direct communication from an entity named "Aiwas" (presumably Crowley's "Holy Guardian Angel" or a "Praeterhuman" entity).

There are many inconsistencies in the various telling and retelling of the story of the formation of this "Holy Book," yet this is the case with ALL "Holy Books" --so, each person is encouraged to investigate (think) for themselves and delve into the Mysteries of The Book of The Law, of their own Free Will and Accord.

The following books will clear things up a bit and allow an individual to research "The Book of The Law." I highly recommend these books:

"The Law Is for All : The Authorized Popular Commentary of Liber Al Vel Legis Sub Figura Ccxx, the Book of the Law," by Aleister Crowley, et al--which explains "The Book of The Law" (ISBN: 1561840904). See my review and other reviews for more information.

"The Holy Books of Thelema" by Aleister Crowley--a collection of "Inspired" writings about the Religion of Thelema. (ISBN: 0877286868). See my review and other reviews for more information.

"The Equinox of the Gods" by Aleister Crowley--the Creation and Evolution of the religion of Thelema. (ISBN: 1561840289). This book has also been republished in "Magick: Liber Aba: Book 4" (ISBN: 0877289190)--See my review and other reviews for more information.

Also, this one is handy for Thelemic Qabbalists:

"The Complete Concordance to Aleister Crowley's The Book of the Law (Liber AL vel Legis)" by Wolfgang Gregory Zeuner (ISBN: 1890109509). See my review and other reviews for more information.

Note: "Magick: Liber Aba: Book 4" (ISBN: 0877289190) and "The Holy Books of Thelema" (ISBN: 0877286868) would be a great starting point to comprehending "The Book of The Law" & "Thelema" --yet, I strongly suggest "The Law is for All"
(ISBN: 1561840904), as well.

"The Law is for All" is a great book to recommend to those who are scratching their heads about "The Book of The Law."
