Rating: Summary: Briming with info! Review: I would be sooo lost without this book. It truely is an Encyclopedia,A to Z. A must for anyone interested in using herbs in their magick and ritual work
Rating: Summary: chockfull of knowledge Review: This is the most carefully researched compendium of pagan herbal lore I've ever found. He has everything in here from the botanicals themselves to astrological correspondences to powers attributed to the plants and their parts. And to his credit, he has appendices in this book to cross-reference all of the information contained in the encyclopedic body of the book. His bibliography is also very valuable as he gives astute advice and observations on some of these resources, such as the Golden Bough ("Take with a large grain of salt"). I still refer to this book regularly and I've had it 10 yrs now. Excellent scholarship and of interest whether you are pagan or not, whether you are Wicca or Witch (and thank you, Scott, for giving us the difference between Wiccans and Witches in your glossary). Mr. Cunningham left us a wonderful legacy of practical pagan resources in his books.
Rating: Summary: Best herbal book ever! Everyone should have it!! Review: I'm a teen and when I read this book it really helped me understand the importance of herbs in magick. If I ever don't know a herb I just look it up! This book is a treasure and everyone should have it!!
Rating: Summary: Excuisite Book on one of the least known Magickal workings! Review: Scott Cunningham is an expert in the feild of magickal study and teaching. This work is, in my eyes, one of his best works, not to mention the best work in it's genre. This is a must read for any who wish to learn the magickal secrets of the different herbs.
Rating: Summary: Informative Review: I recieved this book from a close friend and it is full of history and folklore and cute stories on the "wives tales" of herblisim ! Wish it was in Color !
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book even for a beginner Review: This is a wonderful book that gives many aspects of the herbs. It allows even a novice to see the magical values possessed in each herb that The Goddess offers.
Rating: Summary: If you're interested in herbs or magick, you need this book! Review: The late Scott Cunningham wrote THE best beginners books about wiccan practices and magick use. This one is no exception. It is easy to follow, well organized, and full of wonder information for beginners and experienced alike. This book isn't just about herbal magick, it's about herbs. I highly recommend this and all of his other titles.
Rating: Summary: You will be satisfied with this book. Review: This is an excellent book for begining herbalist and experienced herbalist as well. You will never get tired of reading this book. It has all the information you need on herbs and how to prepare them to perform the magic you want. I can guarantee that it works and you will be enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: A must have..... Review: This book is so complete in how to use herbs in, magick and healing. It is a must have. A book you will go back to time and time again. Until the book itself is so used it falls apart.
Rating: Summary: A great beginner's herbalism book Review: Once again, Scott Cunningham presents good, well-researched information in a simple, easy on your brain, manner. Although serious herbalisst are urged to look elsehwere as far as medical reasons go (try Rodale's Encyclopedia of Herbs for starters), this is excellent for any pagan herblist wanting to use herbs in rituals and magick.
