Summary: A great Encyclopedia of herbs!
Review: Having read both of his books on herbalism I would say that this book does exactly what Scott wanted it to. it is indeed an encyclopedia of the various herbs.

He has organized this book into alphabetical with black and white drawings, the sex of the herbs, and the various uses of the herbs.

This is a must have for any herbalists collection of books.

Summary: Not Just for Witches Anymore...
Review: Even though I was coming from a Druidic perspective rather than a Witchcraft one, I found this book to be very helpful. Even though it was a little short on details, it was a good guide for the general principals of the herbs listed. The other info about spells etc. was very basic, but still pretty solid. Just right for a beginner book, but still valuable for the experienced practioner as a reference guide.

Summary: Needs more details on actual effective magical uses
Review: Veritable encyclopedia of herbs and their reputed magical uses over the ages. What the author has not done is to indicate which magical use of the various herbs are based purely on unproven folklore, and which ones are known to be effective in his experience. This is but a comprehensive list of herbs, and thus at the very most, helps to identify a large number of herbs and their reputed magical uses. Beyond that, one must look elsewhere for detailed explanations and discussions of PROVEN and EFFECTIVE spiritual and magical uses of these herbs

Summary: The book is essential!
Review: The book is an essential part to any pagan's library...it is informative and ageless. I strongly reccomend this book.

Summary: Fairy Gardens
Review: This is a good reference book. It provides the reader with basic and interesting information on herbs. It is the spiritual version of Lust's book on herbs.

Summary: its like the psychic hotline
Review: I hate this book. There is no practical information. Sure I may have ordered the wrong book but, even as a mythological source, it is still poor in quality. " Magical Uses" are so general and could apply to any situation. Its like reading your horoscope....they somehow always apply to you, in their totally generalized manner. I would return it but with the shipping costs as such, I'll trade it.

Summary: The best herb book for herbalists and wiccans!
Review: In all my years of being a proffesionel wiccan, I have never seen sutch a brilliant herb book, complete with a orderly index of folk names, common names, scientific names, elements, gender, planet, powers, and magical uses, I highly reccomend this book if you are wiccan, or an all around herbalist.

Summary: A Great Herb Magickal Book
Review: This is a mainstay in my magickal library. Scott had a vast knowledge in preparing this marvelous book which is so truly helpful on a day to day basis. This is truly from a magickal perspective and does not get into a bunch of scientific hooplah.
definite "check it out"....great when used with his magickal foods book.

Summary: Great addition to a library
Review: It's great for choosing which plants to put into rituals. It has everything most people could want, including latin names, folk names, gender, planets, elements and uses. I had a list compiled for my BOS and threw it out because Cunningham's was so much better.
The only thing that could make it better is something on how to grow these plants
