Summary: Good book for mlm newbies, but tailor the advice!
Review: An excellent book for those seriously interested in building their network marketing business. However, the book is more geared to products-driven businesses such as Amway and Shaklee, than service-driven businesses such as those in telecommunications (Excel for instance). Although the book is great, your company's business-building system should be adhered to first last and always, so what you read in this book always needs to be adapted to it.

Summary: A must read. Great scripts and techniques
Review: As a National Trainer for a unique service based netwrok marketing company, I find the scripts and verbage in this book invaluable. Just couldn't put it down once I started on it. Almost all conceivable objections are answered step by step. All one has to do is read and repeat. The down to earth advice and reality checks are critical to the first year novices chances of survival. Although a little long in length, the book should be a 'must read' for all those that are new to network marketing. Also questionable is the advice that one doesnt need to know the product/service as much as the opportunity. As with any other industry, there are different ways of doing business, and the yarnells are offering their own experiences. Overall a good book.

Summary: A must have weath of information for all network marketers
Review: As a new network marketer, This book has helped me avoid the many pitfalls that I believe has destroyed many network marketers. I am a career firefighter/ paramedic that had zero experience in network marketing. In the short two weeks after reading this book, I have started a successful business that I believe will change my family's life forever. I am a very positive person and have seen the life that is awaiting me in network marketing.

Review: As one of network marketings top producers and trainers, I have literally read hundreds of "how to" books on the subject. The Yarnells have truly written the consummate guide on getting started in this exciting industry. This book is a must buy for seasoned veterans as well as those just getting their feet wet.

Summary: pure nonsense;save your money
Review: Buy your vitamins at Wal-mart.If you want to sell vitamns, there are many wholesalers who can help you get started, and many factories with nutritionists who can help you create your own formula(s).Trying to do the multi-level business is like trying to bowl with a clown standing in front of your pins and trying to deflect your ball.In fact, telling a serious businessman that you are an MLMer and you want to sell him vitmins is like trying to do business in a clown outfit. That fact is that MLM is a business which is DESIGNED to fail for most of the people who try to work it. MLM relies on wholesale sales to distributors, not retail sales.Let's say an MLM company has 50,000 distributors and clears 80M NET per year on products,NET meaning that which can be given out as commissions. That would mean that the average salary per agent is a maximum of 1600.Keep in mind, also, that most MLMers spend at least 100 dollars per month on personal comsumption of their companies' products.Come on now,how many high school kids will make more than that THIS SUMMER doing farm labor or working at the Dairy Queen?Four kinds of people make good MLMers-doctors,charismatic liars, professional sales people, and former practitioners of "people" businesses like travel, real estate, tuxedo rental, bookstore, etc. It is virtually impossible to do the kind of volume one needs to do without a vast motherlode of contacts and/or credibility. And it is almost impossible to recruit large numbers of people without telling millions of lies,half-truths,false anecdotes, and oversimplifications.Of course,if you are a great salesman(or a terrific liar) and you have no morals ,ethics or dignity, join Amway and go to town.

Summary: If you like this book, you'll love Rene's newest release
Review: Doug Weed was right - this is the bible of network marketing for new networkers. It has really been a helpful support to me and so many others I know. I have read and reread it several times and feel it essential for first year networkers.

But if you like this book, you'll love Rene's newest book for your prospects. It is called The New Entrepreneurs: Making a Living - Making a Life in Network Marketing. It does all the work for you to help anyone looking at network marketing overcome their resistance and seriously consider the industry without prejudice. Check it out. It's a book you'll find hard not to read in one sitting. And, although it is a business book, the stories are from the heart. I highly recommend The New Entrepreneurs as a means of building your network marketing business and Your First Year in Network Marketing once you've joined as a training tool. This will spare you the grief by teaching you what to do and, as important, what not to do.

Summary: Pass This on to your downline!
Review: Everthing you need to get off to strong start and keep your downline from leaving. I give a copy to all new frontline distributors. It's well worth the price. I found the statement, "Rejection is not to be taken personally, but merely as an indication that the timing isn't right in people's lives.", to be very helpfull. metazyque@earthlink.net
