Review: Janet Esposito has written a book that goes right to the heart of the matter of performance anxiety. Other books about speaking or performing just don't seem to grasp how scary it can be to stand in front of an audience with 'all eyes on you!", but Janet sure does! Her book is written in a caring and compassionate way, as she had suffered this fear herself and she clearly knows what it feels like to be this uncomfortable being 'in the spotlight'. Her book is immensely helpful to anyone, speaker or performer, who has a high level of anxiousness in confronting a performance situation of any size, large or small! Not only is her book a life saver, but she has just come out with a phenomenal CD as a supplement to her book and it is nothing less than outstanding! It is called, In The SpotLight - Guided Exercises to Create a Calm and Confident State of Mind, Body, & Spirit While Speaking or Performing. The first time I listened, I felt an immediate sense of calm, confidence, and ease. The more I listened, the more I felt incredibly relaxed and positive. Do yourself a favor, and order both Janet's book and her CD, and never feel so overwhelmed by speaking or performing again! And you may want to check out her web site too, as she also offers workshops and coaching!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Breaking Through the Brick Wall Review: Ms. Esposito's Book, "In the Spotlight", is changing my life as I write this review. I am a musician, a pianist, who loves music. I am 42 years old and have suffered from performance anxiety for over 25 years. This anxiety has choked me, and prevented me from fully enjoying my life and realizing my dream of playing the piano in public and truly enjoying the experience. I have always wanted to share music with people. Two days ago, I had the performance of my life. I read Janet's book 3 times, took notes, and did the exercises. Among other things, her book unleashed my spirituality, and I now have open communication with God as well. Two days ago, I was able to break through the brick wall of anxiety; I went out and played the performance of my life, and enjoyed every minute of it. I was in the zone!!! No more evil voices, dry mouth, or shaking. I did it and am so incredibly happy, I can't possibly describe the feelings to you in this review. I wrote to Janet Esposito the day after my performance and told her that her book had changed my life. I hope it can do the same for you.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Only for people who get REALLY scared Review: Since I don't have a terrible 'fear' of speaking in public, but instead just get a bit nervous, I did not find this book useful. If you experience panic attacks at the thought of speaking in public, then this book is well-suited for you.
