Rating: Summary: Thinking well takes time and effort Review: Before I encountered this useful book, I had already been investing a lot of time for several years working on improving my thinking style and emotional attitude. I have worked my way through the classic inspirational books and the more recent psychology self-help books. So I've been working on the power of positive thinking, positive mental attitude, learned optimism, the positive power of negative thinking, even changing by 'doing absolutely nothing' in a mindful way .... Now I have just finished reading Optimal Thinking by Rosalene Glickman, and I definitely find it to be a useful addition to work on improving thinking styles and attitude. Of course, it takes more than one time through to really start getting the benefit of 'thinking' books. I would not say this one replaces the books that came before, but rather it is a very helpful contribution and addition. I recommend it with the understanding that people differ in optimism, pessimism, and realism in ways that make different books necessary depending on where you are coming from. Improving thinking styles does take time and effort, but improvement can make life better.
Rating: Summary: THE DEFINITIVE BOOK FOR OPTIMIZATION Review: Optimal Thinking is a superbly written book that offers fail-safe roadmaps to stop settling for second best in business, personal relationships, and life in general. The book is easy to read and the information is rock solid. The book shows you how to go beyond managing and improving emotions, relationships, tasks, opportunities, and results. You learn how to optimize them. I also recommend the "100 Day Optimal Thinking Audio program for Permanent results" for powerful action-packed personal and career optimization in an entertaining format. And if you have an opportunity to attend an Optimal Thinking seminar, don't miss it. You will welcome every situation as an opportunity to be your best!
Rating: Summary: A quantum leap in personal & professional development. Review: As an executive coach, I understand why Optimal Thinking is overtaking defective positive thinking programs in large and small business. Optimal Thinking is a solid, universal concept for realists. This book clears up misinformation about positive thinking that confuses many people, and offers a valid solution. Optimal Thinking is easy to read, and shows you how to OPTIMIZE (instead of manage) any situation. The author provides roadmaps to follow and the examples are concise. Optimal thinking is THE necessary ingredient for personal and professional optimization.
Rating: Summary: A CLASSIC Review: Dr. Glickman has written a much needed practical how-to book on how to optimize any situation. Optimal Thinking can be used in personal life and business and gives us the greatest chance of success. We all use Optimal Thinking from time to time but this book shows us how to use it consistently. The more we use Optimal Thinking, the more optimal our lives become. I recommend this top of the line book, the 100 day Optimal Thinking Audio CD Program and the optimalthinking.com community. Optimal Thinking should be in every school, family and business. Five stars for sure.
Rating: Summary: How to think and execute optimally Review: By reading optimal thinking, I uncovered core beliefs that were causing me to settle for mediocre performance in business and at home. I am able to focus on my highest priorites and optimize what is in my control, instead of procrastinating or diverting my focus to less important issues. A must read book.
Rating: Summary: BE YOUR BEST CONSISTENTLY (not just occasionally) Review: I decided to read this book because a friend told me that it had turned his life around. Before I read it, my best self was in charge about 20% of the time. I used optimal thinking questions like "What's the best use of my time right now?" but most of my thinking was suboptimal and I was settling for second best. I was overly self-critical and always felt I wasn't doing enough.
An important consequence of immersing myself in Optimal Thinking and being a part of the optimalthinking.com community is that I have made peace with myself. I have received other benefits in my business and personal life. Optimal Thinking showed me how to consistently choose the best in any situation and let go of what is not in my best interest. I know how to bring my best self to any situation and bring out the best in others. I am using Optimal Thinking more each day, and especially when the going gets tough. This book should be in every home and in every business.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life! Review: Optimal Thinking is a universal concept and revolutionary book that deals with the confusion generated by books which view negative thinking as evil and positive thinking as totally good. You learn where negative thinking is constructive and how to best deal with it when it is destructive. You also learn where positive thinking is advantageous and about shortcomings of positive thinking, and how to overcome them. Optimal Thinking is the resource you use to make the most of the present moment and all areas of life. I have read the book three times, and am now starting my fourth read. Each time I read it, I learn something new and put into practise in my life. I use the optimal roadmaps for emotional mastery, optimal communication and leadership. I love this book.
