Review: I'm sure this eBook would appeal to someone, who enjoys making list. Making lists can be beneficial to someone I'm sure. Optimal Thinking reminds me of a Corporate Buzzword, that gets everybody excited, yet produces no results. Optimize it?, Synergize it? "Where's the beef?"

Summary: EXCELLENT and Helpful, Well Written, Broad Applications
Review: This is a refreshing look at thinking as it relates to self-improvement. Discusses the benefits and drawbacks of different types of thinking, including positive and negative and mediocre, and then explains Optimal Thinking. Explains the important distinction between what is meant by optimal thinking versus blind optimism. Optimal thinking allows for realistic assessment of reality while making things the best they can be. Applications are broad, including designing and planning for the optimal life, self-esteem, purpose, feelings, communication, and other good things. Makes useful distinctions between left and right brain strengths and how to make optimal use of each. Overall a very excellent book that brings a fresh look at a potentially stale topic: thinking. This book makes a great compliment to Optimal Thinking: How to Enjoy the Best Life has to offer. Both are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and can make a HUGE Difference in your life. WONDERFUL!!

Summary: Revolutionary book that embraces and optimizes all there is!
Review: I discovered Optimal Thinking in my local bookstore and took it home after reading the first chapter. Optimal Thinking is a step ahead of every positive thinking self improvement book, because it is the language of the highest self and the mental vehicle for OPTIMIZATION. Unlike some positive thinking books, which trash negative thinking and negative thinkers, this book explains the pros and cons of negative and positive thinking and thinkers. The explanations are insightful and the author provides practical examples to illustrate how to be proactive and embrace and optimize all there is. I am using Optimal Thinking at home and at work and have experienced quantum leaps in my emotional life and my productivity. I have also purchased copies of this book for my family and the members of my team at work. Thank you Dr. Glickman for writing this wonderful book. I agree with you that "there is no better occupation than to inspire others to be their best."

Review: I haven't read this book yet, but I have to say the online version for the Palm is completely useless. I wanted to be able to read it on my PDA but it won't load -- and the support page on the Adobe site is absolutely unhelpful (unless you enter your credit card information to get support on a product that should work properly in the first place). So, this will be the last Adobe ebook I ever buy unless they get their act together.

Review: I discovered Optimal Thinking by chance when I saw the author being interviewed on Bloomberg Television. This 5-star book provides the tool to realize your full potential. In the first section, you learn about Optimal Thinking, and how to use it consistently to develop the "Optimization habit." In the second section, you "Optimize Yourself" and in the third section you "Optimize Others." I have read hundreds of professional and personal development books. This is undoubtedly the best I have read.

Summary: The vehicle to be your best!
Review: As a clinical psychologist and corporate trainer, I must endorse Optimal Thinking as the first and best book that takes individuals, groups and companies to the level of "best" or Peak Performance. This book provides the tools and "mental software" to go beyond positive thinking and overcome mediocre mental programing to become an optimal thinker. When you ask the best questions in each situation, you begin the process of optimizing your decisions and behavior.

What would your business, family or personal life look like if you were the right person in the right place at the best time doing the most important activity? What I like best about this peak performance vehicle is that there is no such thing as "I am not good enough" or "I need to be perfect." You simply commit to give your best and accept what comes up and optimize it.

From a psychological perspective, Optimal Thinking transitions you from a victim perspective to optimal self-reliance. From a corporate perspective, this is the vehicle to optimize top-down and bottom-up. Summary: A timeless, universal classic.
Review: I saw the author speak about Optimal Thinking on Bloomberg TV a month ago. I was captured by her fluent explanation of Optimal Thinking as the vehicle for our best self, and her definition of self-sabotage. I visited optimalthinking.com, bought this book, and wow -- I got more than I ever expected. I have lost 12 pounds of excess weight that I couldn't shed for over two years. I am giving my best at work instead of just doing enough to keep my job. I am guiding my son to give his best at school, and to accept that once he has done his best, he has earned the right to move on. I feel alive in the full sense of the word. Every page of this book is a gift. I especially enjoy reading about other optimal thinkers, and learning how they use Optimal Thinking in their daily lives. This book is for everyone but will be most easily received by those who want to rise above self-sabotage and mediocrity to give life their all.

Summary: Choose the best, then put it to rest
Review: I am a life coach who joined the Optimal Thinking community after I read this phenomenal book. Optimal Thinking shows you how to accept what you can't control, and how to make the most of what you can control. When you use Optimal Thinking, you make the best decisions and you put your best foot forward. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to exercise patience, take a baby step, or admit your vulnerability. At other times, your best self might take charge by showing someone how to do their best or by just acknowledging them. Optimal Thinking keeps your best self in charge so that you can focus on what is most important.

This book explains the advantages and disadvantages of both positive and negative thinking. The clarification was a huge eye-opener for me. Instead of distancing myself from negative thinking, I now accept it and ask optimal questions to make the most of the information it is offering me. I also understand why positive thinking did not work for me, and I now know how to use it to achieve my most important goals. Optimal Thinking is not wishful thinking or perfectionism - it is realism at its best!

This book also explains the value of emotions. You are provided with logical strategies to resolve painful feelings, and you learn how to create your best feelings. I have never seen a better guide to master emotions. If you are interested in being your best, or inspiring others to be their best, this is YOUR book. Optimal Thinking is solid.

Summary: a.k.a. 'The Arrogant Perfectionists Handbook'
Review: This book advocates the idea that anything that isn't "optimal", "maximized", or "the best", isn't good enough. There aren't a lot of "bests" in the world, and as is the case in most situations there isn't necessarily a "best". The book explicitly states that a person who wants to improve something isn't good enough, because the person should instead want to "optimize" or "maximize" it. I think improvement needs to be done in baby steps. You crawl, then you walk, then you run, and so on and so forth. The mentality of this book though, is that you should just start out running because it's the "optimal" method. This book comes off to me as being very arrogant. We don't live in a perfect world and fault can be found in virtually anything if we look hard enough to find it. This book is written on the false premise that anything that isn't "the best", simply isn't good enough. This is very similar to a classic form of pseudoreasoning whereby anything that is not perfect (i.e., "the best"), is rejected. Despite the fact that this book has a lot of good reviews, I personally cannot recommend it. Just the idea that someone would claim that a person wanting to improve something isn't good enough, because they should instead want to "maximize" or "optimize" it, seems very pompous to me. The one thing in the entire book that I really did like was that the author brought up how, regardless of how much hype and praise it gets, "positive thinking" is just synonymous with wishful thinking, which is something I completely agree with. My recommendation is to do yourself a favor and find a book that doesn't suffer from the extreme superiority that this one does.
