Summary: Great Gift Idea
Review: I highly recommend giving this as a gift. This is one gift that people actually do appreciate. We all know how hard it is to shop for presents and the fact of the matter is "Will they like it?". Definatley, all people share the same ideas on self improvement and if you like the books, you are going to love the calandar....especially those people who don't have time to read a whole book also!

Summary: There's something to be said for clarity.
Review: I remember walking into the store about a year ago, picking this book up and flipping through it... I was hooked, I bought it and went to the nearest restraunt (a Denny's if I recall) and read the enitre thing cover to cover! I loved it so much, I had to get one for my parents for I thought it that helpful. Richard is so totally right in this book. Why cry over spilt milk, it's just milk?

As you read through Richard relates personal experiences and ancient words of wisdom to help illustrate his point. This book does work, it's hard, but if you can do your damnest to do everything in here listed, trust me, you'll find a lot less stress in life, and find it easier to live. Things as simple as making personal time, something we all know we should do, but don't, he illustrates how to, even in the his busy world.

I think this book is a godsend in an age where people are burning out faster and becoming so overloaded with information people are actually dealing with infophobia. This is the ultimate stress reducer. With each point not taking up more then two pages in this almost cd sized book, it's easy to read and digest, very fun and very accurate.

Want less stress in your life? make this your new motto: "Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff."

Summary: WOW!!!!
Review: Oh my gosh, this book has changed my life. It really helped me put things in prespective. I am greatful to Dr. Carlson for this insightful and inspiring book. I think that everyone should own a copy and make it a point to refer to it once a day. Thank you Dr. Carlson.

Summary: Simple. Clear. Effective. What more could you ask for?
Review: i was presented this book several months back, and did not bother much to read it because destiny had already molded my life in the directions outlined in this book.

however, i did pick it up a few days ago to browse through, and realized how helpful it would have been for me before being "enlightened"!

this book is ideal for anyone that suffers from stress, life complications, loss of direction etc. after reading this book you will be able to see your life, and the world, through different eyes... eyes that will reveal calmness, direction and more effective responsiveness with people around you.

there are many stubborn people out there who will refuse to read such books... which is unfortunate... however, should you, or someone you know, begin their search for a simpler life, this is a good place to start.

be well...

Summary: SHORT, BUT SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is a great little book to read. I recommend reading it straight through and then when you notice yourself starting to worry refer back to it. I think the examples the author takes from his own life add to the book. It enables the reader to think about how they react to life and then read a story from the book and relate it to themselves. I think all of us get so caught up in doing this and getting that, and in the process we forget to take a little time to appreciate life. This is how the book will help you. It will give you a new perspective. It did for me.

Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK AND GREAT STRESS REDUCER!
Review: I loved this book! It is easy to read, fun, simple and effective! What's great about this book is you can enjoy it over and over again. You can open up to any page and get a new perspective on life immediately. Definitely an excellent stress reducer. Thank you Richard!

Another book that I recently bought, read and totally loved (due to a recommendation by another reviewer) is "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. Awesome book too! Easy to read, simple and is also a book you can open up to any page and reduce stress instantly as well as enjoy it again and again. Buy this one and you will love it too! The Kanes also have great audio tapes: I just bought "Magical Relationships" and "Roots of Satisfaction".

Summary: Hard Work That's Worth It
Review: It's not so much a book about helping you handle more stress better, but about making your life better so there won't be so much stress. Nearly all of the little "chapters" contain behavior-altering suggestions that are not easy to do--but that's the hard truth of self improvement. You cannot change behavior overnight, it's the kind of thing that requires day-to-day concentration. Benjamin Franklin discovered his, and wrote about it in his autobiography. He chose a handful of things he wanted to change about himself, and set out to practice one thing each day until he got it down--and it often took him much longer than he anticipated. If you don't want to put forth the effort of self-improvement, especially where stress is concerned, don't buy this book.

This book is easy to read, the suggestions being one to two pages. It may seem like he's "watering" down the facts of stressors and behavior, when in fact this material *must* be simplified in order to be at a level that is concise, direct, and understandable. Some of the 100 suggestions seem to overlap, but in my opinion, it is necessary. There are many aspects to human behavior. For example: Is patience really as simple as we think it is? Or is Mr. Carlson right in helping us with different aspects of it by overlapping the "patience" theme in several chapters? You may just need to decide for yourself.

So, when you're feeling bad about yourself and want to improve, this is a good place for ideas/reminders that can help you from the inside-out. You will have to read it slowly and re-read it again and again, using it as a reference for years to come in order to benefit from its potential effect on your life.

Summary: The Emperor's Clothes
Review: What this flimsy "book" (one page=one chapter) offers is simply an opportunity for readers to confirm their own suspicions about what should matter in an overly-crowded individual lifespan. There is nothing here that an individual of average intelligence and average writing skills couldn't come up with on his or her own. In fact, having read the book, you're unlikely to remember any of its cliches', banalities, and truisms. If, on the other hand, you took 5-10 minutes a day to write down the things you value in life, you would be much the wiser.

Summary: Easier Said Than Done
Review: This is a nice lightweight little book that has a lot of commonsense advice in it, but the title is a bit misleading; it's ALL small stuff? Hardly. It might be easy to tell someone that they need to not worry about certain things and take things easy, but in practice it's not so easy. And some of the advie given can be just plain bad if followed too closely. I mean, really . . . "Regard everyone s enlightened but you"? How can anybody POSSIBLY do that? It seems a sort ot "Tao" Living for the new age; go with the flow; don't let anything get to you. Give way to others even when they are wrong. It might sound nice, and I am sure it makes for good sleep, but it would be a boon for dictators anywhere! Life is not easy; it cannot be watered down so that it is all small stuff. This material may be useful to a degree, but for one to really go about changing their life, an internal transfromation needs to occur; otherwise it is all just a crash course in how to be a mouse.

Summary: Outstanding - Changed my life!
Review: This is a book that you don't just read once. The suggestions and advice will change your life forever, and it inspires you to read it again and again. You'll feel a sense of calm come over you as you read, and you'll feel common sense take over. Your perceptions of life around you will be positively altered for the rest of your life. And when you begin to feel chaos is taking over your world -- pick it up and read it again! Thank you Richard Carlson, for putting into words the important "stuff" we all SHOULD know, but so easily tend to forget!
