Summary: A Bond dictionary that all Bond fans should own!
Review: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia is exactly what it says, a complete listing of many things that have been a part of the making of the the James Bond films from Dr. No to Goldneye, including the two versions of Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again. Packed full with a personal review of each film and a list of cast and credits. Many people who have been a part of the movies is included in the films. From Adams, Maud to Zorin, Max, the relentless information doesn't stop coming. You will learn about all the directors, producers, stars and everyone that is a part of the Bond Family. A very long read with everything in order, many fans will be amazed with the large length of this book. (one note: fans of Roger Moore, (like me) may not be pleased with the quite terrible reviews of 3 of his films.) Hey everyone has their own opinion. All in all a fantastic Bond book that every bond fan should own!

Summary: This is good, not the best!!
Review: This book is good if you want some minor facts that have been exhaustively researched. I bought my copy in May of 2002. It makes it seem that the movies are junk and you are wasting your time. A better Bond book is The Essential Bond, by Lee Pfeiffer. This one tells you about gadgets, cars, villians, and the sexy Bond girls. I rate this one 5 stars!!

Summary: An excellent addition to any Bond collection!
Review: This book is the most convinient thing I have ever come across. My friends and I formed a James Bond Club year ago and one member has the book. It is agreat resource to resolve dissagreements over who killed who or whatever other issues come up.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must-have for any fan!
Review: This is an excellent, well-organized collection of every 007 tidbit you could imagine! Mr. Rubin has gone to great lengths to include some very interesting bits of trivia, and also very good information about the series' actors, stuntmen, producers, and other crew from over the years. However, if you are not a diehard fan, most of the information in this book would be somewhat useless.

Summary: Don't buy this garbage!
Review: This is definitly not the "complete Bond film book", It's rather the most unfinished I've ever seen. The reviews are too short and he never really explains why he's taken the opinion he does.

There will never ever come a complete Bond book, But if you're a serious fan, read Chapmans's Licence to thrill or Raymond Benson's The James Bond companion instead.

Summary: Bondage gone mad !!!!!!!!!
Review: This is nothing short of a fantastic work of Rubin's dealing in great detail with everybody's favourite agent. The sheer comprehensiveness of the book and the fact that Rubin produces tasty morcels of information that any bond fan would relish, makes it a five star book. Particularly interesting are the character and actor profiles but basically it is possible to find an entry on any given bond-related subject within this book. On the whole magnificent !!!!!!!!

Summary: Exhaustively Researched, Occasionally Annoying
Review: We have, first of all, truth in advertising: Steven Jay Rubin's THE COMPLETE JAMES BOND MOVIE ENCYCLOPEDIA is exactly what it says it is, providing information on the series' actors, characters, locations and gadgets. It provides reviews of the first seventeen movies, and the history of the rift between Ian Fleming and Kevin McClory.

There is a lot here. So much, in fact, that the book becomes wearisome. Mr. Rubin's entries about the various Bond searches are interesting, as are his reviews (and, no, I do not agree with half of them), but the quality of these are inferior to the same information presented in his much better THE JAMES BOND FILMS. In addition, Mr. Rubin has seen fit to include some trivia that may tickle the diehard fan but is fairly worthless otherwise.

I was also annoyed by the GOLDENEYE updates. We get few stills from the movie, and the review doesn't provide much in the way of commentary.

Still, if you are a diehard fan, or even a low key one, you'll find this book pleasing and often informative.

Summary: Must-have for the 007 fan
Review: What can I say... If you are into 007 you must have this book. Alphabetical listing of all kinds of James Bond trivia, plus a lot of photos. A new addendum has info on the first Brosnan 007 film. An updated edition would be nice.

I still think Moore is the best Bond of them all. The classic British gentleman...

Summary: The Ultimate Bond Companion
Review: Who was the First Actor to Play James Bond? What does EON stand for? What was the only non-bond project did Broccoli and Saltman collaborate? These are only a few of the questions this exhaustive and well researched volume contains. But its not just trivia. In it you can find out how Bond came to the screen, The origin or Maurice Binder's famous opening sequence, and the true story behind the infamous "garlic incident," as well as synopsis' of all the films (including the non EON productions.) If you love Bond, then this book is for you. The answers: Barry Nelson, Everything or Nothing, "Call me Bwana."
