Summary: Love puzzles and/or trivia? This book is a must!
Review: "The Million Word Crossword Dictionary" is an exhaustive listing of both traditional crossword entries and pop-culture references (which are becoming more and more common in modern puzzles). It's also a great reference book for trivia buffs, as it contains such handy rosters as the cast and crew members of hundreds of movies, famous cats and dogs, Indy 500 winners, and many more. This book is well-deserving of a place on every reference shelf!

Summary: New Wave solvers rejoice!
Review: A New Wave crossword puzzle is as likely to ask the name of the dog from "The Fusco Brothers" as the name of the longest river in Spain. Now there's a New Wave dictionary in which solvers can find answers to these and many other clues found in the modern newspaper crossword.

Categories I discovered within this tome include modern items such as computer terms, movies and TV shows, novels, pop tunes. For those of you who still like the old style of puzzles, you'll still find standard categories like nymphs, Indian tribes and cities in Kentucky.

If you can't remember the cast of "June Bride," Stevie Nicks songs, or the name of a specific breakfast cereal, you will find "The Million Word Crossword Dictionary" indispensible.

Summary: Crossworders Holy Grail
Review: After using the Million Word Dictionary for the past 2 months, I have almost abandoned 4 other references that I was using prior.
This dictionary has factual, up-to-date info for puzzle solvers, trivia buffs, or anyone else interested in advancing their knowledge of Movies, Geography, the Arts, Music, Sports and hundreds of other topics.
I have worked crosswords for many years and many times have been frustrated by the lack of needed info on a number of topics. To the rescue, the Million Word Dictionary has been the answer to all my frustration.
I highly recommend the addition of this reference to your library.

Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR ALL PUZZLERS
Review: Crossword puzzles are popular than ever. A newspaper just isn't complete without one. Authors use them as a backdrop in their mysteries. In addition, the crossword obsession is often spoofed in movies and on TV shows. They are a part of our everyday world.

Die-hard puzzlers will come to value _The Million Word Crossword Dictionary_. I'm not a die-hard puzzler, but I can appreciate the hard work that has gone into it. Comprehensive doesn't cover the amount of content in this 1268 page dictionary. Although the print is small, it is set up in an easy to read manner. The book offers words for single and double words. It includes typical words as well as celebrities, artists, authors, chemists, noblest, slang, popular phrases, movie titles, etc. Moreover, if you don't find what you are looking for, you can contact the authors through the snail mail or email addresses included in the book.

Summary: Best crossword puzzle resource I've found
Review: I bought this book for my father. He says it's the greatest book around for working crossword puzzles. The only problem he has with it is the print is very small and he has a difficult time reading it. He gets by with a magnifying glass, but said he'd like to have one with bigger print.

Summary: Million Thanks!
Review: I just received this book in the mail! It is fantastic. I was just finishing up my NY Times Sunday Puzzle and had about eight answers to go and I picked up this book and all the answers were in it!!! I usually have to look through about 4-5 books. It is an extremely thorough source. A million thanks to Stanley Newman and Daniel Stark for enabling me to tote one book around vs. a bagful!! A must-buy for any serious puzzler.
