Summary: Great conversation piece
Review: I bought this book recently and have so far interested five of my friends enough into wanting copies of their own. I brought this book over to a friend of mine's house and we sat up for an extended period of time going over some of the questions and discussing them. I think this book would be great to bring to either some camping trip or perhaps an evening with friends over drinks or coffee. A particular question I found to be interesting was the question, "If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward would remember nothing of the experience would you do so? If not, why not?" This is one in particular my friend and I went over for quite a long time. Anyway, this book is filled with a variety of questions, and as the book says, each one is different from the one before, so you could literally read each on after another and have an unexpected question come up. I find the book to be thought-provoking, and as with all things thought-provoking, I liked it.

Summary: Great for road trips!
Review: I bought this book to take along on a road trip that my husband and I were taking across country. We learned so much about each other just by asking and answering these questions and elaborating on our answers. I can't wait to order more books like this one!

Summary: A book that opens door for conversation.
Review: I bought this book when my boyfriend and I first started dating because I was tired of asking what is your favorite color type of questions. WE started asking each other questions from the book just to start deeper intimate discussions on aspects of life that are sometimes hard to bring up in conversation. Now we go to the park about once a week and take the book with us and we sit and talk under a tree and really get to know each other more.

Summary: The All-Circumstance Book
Review: I first learned about the book in my theology class, where we would discuss one of the questions every day. It's not religious though, it's more about morality and the limits of an individual. My personal favorite, "Would you be willing to pee in front of your friends?" The book contains a mixture of humorous AND serious questions. I took it to a sleepover party at my friend's house; I forgot it there, and let's just say she still hasn't offered to return it....

Summary: Great Book
Review: I have an advisor group at the school where I teach. This book has great questions for starting discussions. I'm really glad I found it.

Summary: Know more about yourself
Review: I have had this book for about the past seven years and still read it today. I have found that my ideas and philosophies on life have changed and this book has shown these changes. Also this book happens to the greatest conversation starter. The questions are all well thought out and are not lame. Try them at a party and watch the magic begin. This is the one book you will never be tired of reading.

Summary: Screen Saver version of this book is great!
Review: I have the screen saver version of this book. It's a great way to have these interesting questions pop up for a "thinking moment" throughout my day. And people who pass by my computer love to stop for a quick ponder as well and often engage me in conversation about a question.

Summary: Introspective, challenging, and ultimately enlightening
Review: I lent this book to my son when he was in prep school for an ethics paper he had to write for a religion class. After a few hours he returned it to me saying "Wow... this book doesn't have any answers, but it sure does make you think."

Which is the whole purpose of Stock's book, and on that score it is a resounding success. This book is not, and was never meant to be, an ice-breaker; the questions it poses are not for people you hardly know. And some people do not like to be made to think; hence the negative reaction on the part of some readers to this book. But if you like to explore issues from a side you've never seen before, or to learn more about yourself, this book will open your mind up. It will challenge your ideas, your attitudes, your beliefs, your morals, and every certainty you thought you ever had.

Stock doesn't have the answers and doesn't pretend to; he wants readers to explore the issues and find the answers for themselves. And some of his questions lead to more questions; for instance: Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would end hunger in the world? leading to the general question of what do you think of people who achieve great things by compromising their principles? Or try this one: If God appeared to you and told you to leave everything behind, would you do it? What if you were told -- like Abraham -- to sacrifice your child?

The reader learns while going through this book that there are no right or wrong answers; that questions often lead to more questions, and that the book reflects the uncertainties of life we all have to deal with. It will challenge you, frustrate you, and ultimately help to enlighten you about yourself and who you are. Reading it is an eye-opening and a mind-blowing experience.

Summary: The book that put the genre on the map
Review: I really liked this book and have used it in my ESL classes for conversation topics. The questions are well thought out and the book is nicely pocket sized. However there are only 217 questions in the book. Thats only one or two a page. Other books in this geanre have now surpassed the Book of Questions like the If... series with 400 questions per book, the Book of Fabulous Questions which is divided into topics and Questions to Muse You (My own book) with about 1000 questions on a wider variety of topics.
