Review: I am a Spanish teacher and I was thinking of buying this book. After looking at one sample page, I would NOT buy this book! The single page I looked at is full of errors. The commands are incorrect. They also switch between formal and informal commands. Here are examples of errors and the correct forms in the informal:
close the door--cerrada la puerta--should be cierra la puerta.
cook this--coce este--should be cuece este
do this--hagas esto--should be haz esto
do you need help?--tú necesitas ayude?--should be Necesitas tú ayuda?
There are many more, and this is just one page of it. I would NOT recommend this book!

Summary: I can't believe how helpful this book is...everyday!
Review: I don't speak spanish but when I use this book, the guys in the kitchen understand what I need very easily. Another thing that happened is that I'm more well liked by the spanish speaking guys cause they apprecite that I'm trying. Definitely get it!

Review: I found this booklet to be outrageously priced, incomplete and not user friendly for a publication intended for use in a commercial kitchen. Any standard English-Spanish phrase book would do just as well.

Review: This book contains a multitude of little errors and it jumps between the formal (usted) and informal (tu) forms without distiguishing between the two.
It does the job "more or less" if you're in a pinch, but there has to be something better than this out there.

Review: This book has really helped me at work. All these people talking about imperfections in the book are missing the point. Spanish scholars don't need this book. Regular folk like me are the people who need it. Believe me, this book helps.

Summary: After 3 years, I still love this book!
Review: When I got Kitchen Spanish 3 years ago, I didn't speak a word of Spanish. I really don't know it now either, but I speak to my kitchen assitants every work day using Kitchen Spanish and it works. I guess if I really wanted to learn proper Spanish, I would get a Berlitz immersion program or something, but for me, in my job, Kitchen Spanish works like magic. I don't know what I'd do with out it.
