Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book for New and Veteran Cigar Lovers Review: There is nothing like enjoying a good cigar. This guide is clear, concise, and well-organized. There is a chapter on small cigars and cigarillos and a number of these are rated, in addition to rating larger cigars. This is a fine reference work.
Rating: Summary: an excellent reference book for all cigar fans....... Review: this book is a must-read for any cigar connoisseur, no matter what their level of experience. the information is laid out in a logical progression, with very helpful summaries at the end of each chapter and highlights of important points throughout. a rank amateur will find very basic information on selecting, cutting, lighting, smoking, and storing cigars. the most fascinating chapters for me were the ones showing all the steps it takes to make a fine handmade cigar. it is easy to see why fine cigars taste so much better than the machine-made variety, and why their higher cost is justified. there is a section of reviews, along with ways of developing your own personal ratings. one chapter is also included on pipe smoking, something that most cigar smokers also enjoy(including me). congratulations to the authors, this book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Rating: Summary: The Perfect Introduction to Cigars Review: This book is obviously the work of authors who are genuinely interested in educating and informing their readers, as opposed to merely showcasing their expertise (which they both possess). The text is organized in an intuitively obvious way that is user-friendly without being boring, redundant, or insulting to the reader's intelligence.... Penned in a clear, concise writing style that makes for an effortless, entertaining read which invites one back for future reference. The authors' insight instills the reader with the self-confidence to consistently make quality selections, observe appropriate tobacciana decorum, and maximize the enjoyment of any cigar-smoking opportunity. Well done -- I give it 5 humidors!

Rating: Summary: What a Great Book! Review: This book turns the "Complete Idiot" into the "Complete Aficionado". Very comprehensive and extensive information provided on the many topics of Cigars. Tad Gage doesn't just say HOW things are done such as storing, cutting, lighting etc. but WHY they are done. A good read which will teach everyone, novice or expert, something new about cigars. I felt what the book needed to make it 5-star was a few more diagrams and some more colour pictures to illustrate some of its points. Nevertheless, a very good read !
