Rating: Summary: Good Information - Simply Presented Review: As a mom of two boys under the age of 4, and a freelance writer , I didn't (and still don't) have a lot of time to devote to researching online markets for possible queries. This book has done all the work for me in a fun and relaxed read. The Tedesco brothers begin the book with all the web-related jargon and skills you need, including a great primer on sending HTML files, followed by a thorough complilation of "paying" online markets. This is one book that serious freelancers must have if you want to break into the online marketplace.
Rating: Summary: Must-have resource . . . but Review: As would be expected in the case of a print market report, some of the markets proved to have gone out of existence or to have changed their needs/editorial staff/payment schedule since the Tedescos created the list. There are still, however, a significant number of viable markets listed, and the advice given is valuable. A worthwhile purchase for any freelancer considering the online markets.
Rating: Summary: Hi/Free Updates/Bye Review: Hello writers. It's Anthony, co-author/older brother, with a quick note that's one part promotion but two-or-three hundred parts public service: When/if you purchase _Online Markets for Writers_, remember to send an email to me with the subject "free updates" and - as you may have just sleuthed - I'll email you free updates of any/all content changes in this book. Any market-contact changes or URL changes or pay-rate changes. Any any changes. For free. I'll even be happy about doing it. Or about making my little brother do it. (Just kidding, Paul. Kick your feet up and relax.)[...] [...] [...] Also, although we're ecstatic about our Amazon review and Amazon and all things Amazonian, I do just want to point out that 99.999(99) percent of our online markets are more accessible than the aforementioned Epicurious, Business Week Online and Family.com - and add a few more nines in there when comparing online markets to print markets. Also #2: As the only writer's market guide book with any "inside scoop" from freelancers, we're constantly receiving more scoop and we'll include additional reports in our free email newsletter. So please keep us posted on your experiences working with particular markets. We'll include your information confidentially, and (with your permission) credit you as a Contributing Writer in the general/extensive section on our website and in our next print edition. If you have any other questions (or answers), please feel free to email them to me - OR PAUL - and we'll do our best to get right back to you. Thanks, Anthony Oh and P.S.: Only because I've wondered about reader reviews in the past: We've never met or bribed any of the readers who've reviewed our book on Amazon so far. Not that we wouldn't. We just haven't yet.

Rating: Summary: Definately a must have for online writing! Review: Helpful in every sense of the word. From tips on writing email query letter examples to contract examples, and lots of other important information that beginning writers need to know! Great book!
Rating: Summary: Great job. Review: I found the Online Markets for Writers to be an informative guide. After reading to book and realizing that web addresses change, I conducted further research to find that the authors of the book have kept current by offering updates on their website. I give Anthony and Paul Tedesco a double-thumbs up for their efforts to help others in the writing and publishing profession.
Rating: Summary: A Newcomer's Guide to Writing Online Review: I found this book to be extremely helpful. I think that Paul and Anthony Tedesco explain all the ins and outs of actually earning a living by writing for online markets in a way that is very easy for even the most inexperienced freelance writer (ie. ME) to understand. I especially appreciated all of the contact information for various online markets that they provide--so many "writer's guide" books stop after explaining HOW TO WRITE for the intended market and don't explain HOW TO FIND the intended market. The legal/contractual information and contacts they include are really valuable too--I could have jumped headlong into this writing arena without knowing my rights and been taken advantage of rather easily... Their conversational, quirky style also makes what might be intimidating to computer-insecure writers seem familiar and accessible, as do their down-to-earth reviews of the online markets. Best of all, they offer FREE market updates in a newsletter!
Rating: Summary: Swimming Coach Review: I read the book, and then read entire sections of the book over the phone to a friend who has decided to write freelance. The authors point out that the phrase "content- hungry" means that publications are willing to read the work of new writers, and to publish these efforts. They staunchly defend getting paid for one's writing, with comeback lines for when a publisher is trying to hustle out of paying. Reassuring the writer that it is safe to jump into the water, and stressing the value of the writer's prose, the Tedesco's coach the aspiring e- journalist to submit, bravely, and charge, confidently. The theoretical parts are wrapped around the practical sections- contracts, contacts, real- life writers's experiences. The list includes the well-known- Wall Street Journal, to the more obscure- Fashion Windows. This section is comprehensive, and the Tedescos promise on- the - Web updates of information, with inside writers' scoops. This book is a good value investment for anyone dreaming of becoming an online author.
Rating: Summary: Great Job! Review: I really enjoyed this book. Anyone that is even thinking about writing for the internet should check it out!
Rating: Summary: Incredibly Useful Review: I thought I had struck gold. As a very green freelance writer, I had no idea how to publish on-line before I read this book. The information on 200 paying markets is in wonderful detail. I also found the contracts/agreement chapter very useful.
