Rating: Summary: Worth the money Review: I used this book to study for the test and passed it this morning with an 820. I looked through other study guides while looking for the right book and all the others seemed geared toward those with no Win2K experience at all. This guide has good information at a level for the experienced user.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Lucid, Essential! Review: If you're going to take the Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Exam (70-210), then this is the one and only book you'll need. Read this book cover-to-cover, and get to where you can consistently score 90% or better on the Transcender CBT tests for this exam, and you will pass this exam. This book covers all the information on the test.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but you need more to pass ! Review: It took me close to just one month to teach myself the core of Windows 2000 Professional with LITTLE knowledge of the proprietary Microsoft OS. I started with basic Windows knowledge, lacking knowledge of Group Policy Objects, NTFS permissions, MMC, RIS, etc. Essentially speaking, I was your typical daily Win9x user.To my surprise, I managed to score 860 / 1000 on the actual 70-210 exam taken at a Prometric exam center USING THIS BOOK ALONE (even though I had the Windows 2000 Professional MCSE Training Kit book by MS Press). The book has its good and bad points. Good points - 300 some odd pages - Straight and to the point; it'll get you up and operating Win2k instantly - Easy read (as oppose to the Win2k Pro MCSE TK by MS Press) Bad points - Doesn't elaborate with greater details on some of the more important concepts (i.e. RIS, network protocols, Windows registry, printer administrations, etc.) - Unclear / ambiguous explanation on certain concepts (i.e. Group Policy Objects, software assignment / publishing, etc.) I had to go back and refer to the MCSE Training Kit on Win2k Professional to review the areas that were -not- covered (or not thouroughly covered) in the Exam Cram. I recommend this book as a -SUPPLEMENTARY- guide. To get the most out of Windows 2000, I suggest reading the Windows 2000 Professional MCSE Training Kit by Microsoft Press (it's about 600 some odd pages and a boring read); but you will not regret it, especially if you want to learn the ins and outs of Windows 2000 Professional [especially important in the workplace] !
Rating: Summary: Perfect Cram!!! Review: Never having used Windows 2000 except a very limited time with a Professional Client, I thought the process of obtaining my Win 2000 track MCSE would be an up hill battle. But, with the help of this cram and the 70-210 Study Guide from Syngress / Osborne / McGraw Hill I passed the exam flawlessly. The only problems I had with the book were minor technical errors that conflicted with my other Study Guide and had to be resolved on the Microsoft site...but I stress the errors were MINOR. I also wish they stressed the unattended/Remote install options more in depth...due to the fact the a large percentage of my exam concentrated on RIS. But all and all this guide, as well as a decent study guide are enough for a power user to pass this exam with very little problem.
Rating: Summary: Worked for me Review: Read this book once and passed the Exam. There are portions of the exam that are not covered in this book, but the bulk of them are. If you do not work with the product or are just now trying to break into the IT field you will need more info than is provided. If you are just renewing your MCSE and know NT4 pretty well, this coupled with some of the white papers are all you will need.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Read through the MCSE 2000 Professional by Microsoft Press and then read this Exam Cram and you are ready. It took me three week days and a weekend to prepare for 70-210. Thanks to Exam Cram.

Rating: Summary: Concise and to the Point, Great Review of 2000 Professional Review: There are two aspects of passing this exam (along with any MS exam): 1) Hands-on experience and long term detailed study (resource kits, etc.) 2) Focused, direct exam preparation for the test. This book is really good book for focused study near the end of your studies. If a person has experience and/or has read a good detailed book about Windows Pro, this book will be very beneficial toward your test success. This book is also well written and easy to understand.
Rating: Summary: Solid Exam Prep Review: This book is a solid review of Windows 2000 Professional concepts and topics. It will be difficult to pass the test with just this book and no prior knowledge, but it definitely clarifies what you need to study. I found this book and the Server cram a great help for the 70-210 and 70-215. Be careful, the example questions are good for testing your knowledge, but are nothing like the Microsoft test questions.
