Review: This book has been useful to me in the past for the very basic, however, I wish that it didn't hide it's lack of technical specifics with humor. I keep thinking that the next edition will be better, but it is just the same exact definitions reprinted in a different font size or style. Sometimes I am really needing to find a REAL definition that will help me, but, I find a joke instead, or something written a long time ago. I never know what to expect, since some things are loosley defined and some definitions are so technical that they defeat the whole purpose. I end up looking up several other terms. I once found this book fun to read, but now it is so full of old stuff that it is hard to find the current info, and harder to learn from. I have found that what I really need this book for is to define it's own definitions.

It also helps me in my part time business as a consultant. If everyone in the industry read this, there would not be the confusion in this industry that exist.

Review: I have literally hundreds of Computer related books and such. This dictionary is at my side whenever I pick up any of them up to do some reading on any subject of research. It is the one stop shopping so to say for a definition in deatail that I have ever read or have seen available on the market today. I highly recommend this for any library weather your a novice or seasoned pro. I have over twenty years in this buisness.

Review: This is a really fine reference book for those looking for a really good book on the ever-changing telecommunications field's terminology. It is not easy to get all the terms of this ever-changing field into one book, but Harry Newton has done, in my humble opinion, the best job. Not only are the definitions for new technologies (well, most of them) there, he presents them in a way that not only will telco professionals (and those studying this as well as related fields) will find easy to understand, but I believe others desiring just what a "brouter" is, for example, will find this book indespensible. This book is very easy to understand and use. A truly highly recommended book!!

Review: The most informative, entertaining, valuable tool for any computer telephony professional. This would also be an excellent reference book for the non-computer type who would like just a glimmer of comprehension of the technical terms being used in today's everyday language, not just among the techie pro's. It's that easy to understand and just plain fun to read! Newton's a hoot!

Review: This book is an absolute requirement for anyone that is new or learning about (and who isn't?) the telecommunications world. The definitions go beyond a simple explanation... there is both history and forcasts. The humor that is within the pages adds some levity to an otherwise dry subject.
