Summary: A CD version would be more useful and portable
Review: Computer is faster than human eyes to search a word in dictionary. A CD version of dictionary is more appropriate for mordern technology. When will the CD version publish?

Summary: I work in the Telecomm industry & Newton's is the best book
Review: But, I do have quite a few acronyms that come up that are not in the book...Mr. Newton should have people that work in the industry keep a list of the acronyms that are not found in his book and send them to him...It would be very helpful.

Thank you --

Summary: Good general reference; essential for newbies to industry
Review: With extensive experience in the industry I still refer to it to remind me of definitions, and look up occasional new ones. I consider it an essential reference for new people in training. Our products combine telecom applications and networking capabilities: Data transfers; LAN/WAN; SNMP; RS232 and CC Alarms; PPP; Remote Access; etc... so I wish it were more comprehensive in the Networking field, it can use some additions of definitions for the merging Telecom/Networking world.

Summary: It's informative and fun
Review: Harry's 15th edition is even more comprehensive. I love his definition of "Assignation" (Check it out) and "Newton" and the author's photo on the back cover - Vot can I say? Other than Jim Wolfensohn, Harry is Australia's greatest contribution to world harmony (when he is cheerful). Harry, pls send the promised payment.

Summary: Simply Indispensable
Review: While not exactly a computer neophyte, networking was one of those oft used/ignored buzzwords until about a year and a half ago. Suddenly thrust into to the telecommunications, computer data environment, it was a case of learn quick, or go down for the third time. Newton's proved to be the life ring that kept me near the surface if not always on it. Besides it's easier to get to than the internet when you're in the field!

Summary: Love it!!!!!
Review: It has helped me tremendously since I am new to the biz....I had 6 years of Radio Communications while in the Navy and really wanted to stay in the COM field. Got out and found a new home in telecom and all I can say about this book is I LOVE IT and I never go to work without it.
