Summary: The best I've read on online networking/job search!
Review: The maxim, "Knowledge is power," comes to mind after reading Rebecca Smith's book, Electronic Resumes and Online Networking (Career Press, 1999). This book is truly a wealth of information . . . with it, job seekers will be armed with the power to create content-driven Web resumes, negotiate the maze of the Internet, and connect with like-minded job seekers, as well as recruiters and employers. The author is a crack researcher and knows her topic inside and out. This book should be required reading for any job seeker who wants to know how to use the Internet to advance their career! Susan Whitcomb, author of Resume Magic (JIST Works, 1999)

Summary: Other books cover more and in more detail.
Review: There just is nothing new in this book. None of the information is bad, mind you, it just a rehash of similar titles. It never goes beyond the obvious.

Summary: Gain a competitive advantage with this great book.
Review: This is an excellent book filled with online career strategies and resources. The author provides innovative ideas and a structured approach to developing an online resume and organized job search. The book is easy to read and understand and uses common comparisons for better comprehension of the internet functions.

The author explains how to find thousands of job listings through search engines, media sites, job boards and virtual job fairs using resources available by simply logging on with any web browser. Plus there are several sections dedicated to developing traditional, text and HTML resumes, creating keyword summaries, filling in e-forms, posting resumes to corporate data bases and using search agents/scouts. The author even explains how to insure that the cover letter and resume sent via e-mail looks the same to the receiver as it does to the sender.

The numerous lists of metajob boards and industry-specific job boards, directories, industry news resources, discussion forums, newsgroups, mailing lists and research tools makes this book a worthwhile investment for anyone pursuing a career. This book will definitely expand your knowledge of this new trend which is rapidly revolutionizing the world.
