Summary: Good for the novice
Review: Be careful, if you already have some knowledge about the internet and computers, shy away. It was written in such a basic way, it was hard to get into the book. Too much fluff for someone who has some knowledge, just need to get the rest of the story and then move on. If this sounds like you, don't get this book. If you don't know what a modem is, get this book. It's a good start.

Summary: Too much info -- CD is full of junk.
Review: Don't get me wrong -- this book while decent, just seemed to get off track and didnt in my opinion FOCUS on the exam topics. While some have said good things about the cd -- i think it is full of useless stuff, and the exam questions where an afterthought, as compared to what is actually on the exam.

Summary: Get ready to pass the INET+ Exam
Review: First there was A+, then NET+ and now INET+. CompTIA Keeps putting out new exams to keep you current with the expansion of the computer industry and e-commerce. This book will be a definite asset in the passing of the certification exam.

Bryne has a reputation for covering the exam objectives with great accuracy and detail. This book is the perfect example of that work. From Internet basics and Clients, to web site design, networking, infrastructure and security.

Finally the author covers internet business including e-commerce and business strategy. Also included is a blueprint of the INET+ exam making sure that each objective has been covered. There is an instant assessment test included to see the areas you need to study.

As if that was not enough, the book comes with the BeachFront Quiz software for practice testing. Other things include are IE 5.0, Communicator 4.7, HTML Notes for web page design in text and WEB Express for WYSIWYG HTML design and several server applications. For Under $40.00 this is a great buy.

Summary: Not worth your time.
Review: Having taken and passed this test (barely, and from my own experience and a lot of luck), I can say this book was virtually useless in preperation. The only thing I got from it was terminology, for the questions that are asked in the most obtuse manner possible (yes, that was sarcastic).

Summary: Get this book!
Review: I can't say enough good things about this book. Everything you need for the exam is here, and clearly explained in an easy to read format. The examples are great. I really like the software (lots of FREE software) included so I could set up my own servers and see first hand how e-mail and the web works. I passed the exam on my first attempt using this book as my study guide. I've read both books by this author and trust him to give honest, easy to follow, and relevant information. Well worth the money...and then some!

Summary: This is a great book for Passing the iNet+ exam
Review: I don't think some of these other reviewers actually read this book, or at least not very carefully. Mr. Byrne covers the entire exam objectives clearly and completely. His writing style is easy to understand and entertaining as well. I had very little Internet experience but I spent the time to read this book, study the information presented, and re-read the area that I wasn't very sure of. After properly preparing (with just this book and the BeachFront Quizzer included on the CD) I passed the exam with a 92%. Not only did I pass, but now I understand how to create my own Web, Email, and DNS servers! Pretty cool stuff! So if you failed the exam, don't blame this book, its more likely that you didn't prepare yourself enough. This book covers it all. Everything you need to know you'll find in this book and then some.

Summary: This book is very well-presented
Review: I found the book is well-outlined which makes the reader follow the author's trend of thought. The terms are also presented in such a way that even a beginner can understand. And there are also a handful of hands-on that helps make things gel a little more. All-in-all, I'd say I really like the book because as a beginner in this field, this makes things easier.

Summary: Great! Helped Me to Pass the Exam!
Review: I found the reading good and the CD very helpful. While the interface on the CD isn't the best, it got the job done. Be prepared to reread some of the examples to gain a better understanding, but overall, I recommend this book to potential webmasters.

Summary: A great book if you have baseline knowledge
Review: I really liked the way this book was written. What people must know is that certain terms are not explained (even on the first mention) meaning that the author assumes you know a certain amount about the basics. I appreciated that, because too many books re-hash the same old things that most people already know, while exam time is looming closer.(and Christmas) I'm not an expert either, by the way, I've had no previous experience in the industry, but have been studying for the last nine months for a diploma in computer enginnering, and managed to pass the Windows98 MCP exam in August. I passed the i-Net+ exam with 88%.

To sum up, this book has a strong focus on exam objectives, and for me, it answered a lot of questions that I couldn't seem to find answers for previously. Thanks Joseph!
