Rating: Summary: Book was excellent final prep. right before test. Review: With the large number of preparation materials out there, it's nice to have a "final" prep resource. This book does that job well, though it doesn't quite nail the mark on the current 2.0 testing. Use this guide as a final review to make sure you've got your bases covered well. Do not expect this guide to help you get over 900 on the 2.0 test without some experience or other study. Like I said, it's excellent review material but certainly not exhaustive enough to fully cover the CCNA 2.0 test.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book Review: I have read this book to preparatation CCNA 2.0 EXAM, and this book are covered all CCNA EXAM I get score 881, and I would like to say thank for todd lammle,
Rating: Summary: Best review for the $$ Review: This book has the best information for the CCNA exam out there. I found that the information review and some of the techniques (ip addressing within subnets) are outstanding. The one assumption that this book makes, is that you have either done alot of router-sim or have hands-on experience. But it is an excellent review nonetheless. Highly recommended to study right before the exam, work the problems and go through the review points, and you'll feel comfortable!
Rating: Summary: No Cisco experience and tested 930! Review: In preparation for taking the CCNA exam, I procurred 4 different CCNA texts and sequestered myself away to study (using vacation time). I began to study each major topic by reading the relevent section from each text, but soon found myself reading exclusively from Lammle's remarkably condensed and easy to read Exam Notes. Even without any significant hands-on experience, I easily passed the exam.
Rating: Summary: Great book. Worth the money! Review: This is a good (truncated) version of the CCNA Study Guide by Lammle. You probably do not require this if you have the other book...but if you buy both, you have no excuse not to pass the exam...Everything you need is right there!
Rating: Summary: Out of Date Review: This book focuses around the 4xx series of test that have been discontinued by CISCO. I'd recomend other great titles that are more current for the 5xx series of test. Cisco CCNA Exam #640-507 Certification Guide (With CD-ROM)
Rating: Summary: Right on the money! Review: This book is the cats-meow! If you want to pass the CCNA and want to study quickly, then buy this book and the Sybex CCNA e-trainer.
Rating: Summary: There are better books Review: I would recommend that if you are pursuing certification beyond the CCNA that you instead purchase a CCNP book as it will more than cover what you need to know about the CCNA and will save you a couple of dollars.
Rating: Summary: Good enough to pass beta 2.0 CCNA Review: I used this book exclusively to study for CCNA 2.0 - along with 3 years of experience. It has everything you need to know to pass.
Rating: Summary: A back-up study guide. Review: This is a good book but I believe it does not cover everything at the right depth. I began reading with very little knowledge about Networking. I used both this and the Syngress book and think that the Syngress one is the better buy. This was more readable and the end of chapter tests were far easier. However, this will not prepare you for the actual CCNA exam. On reflection, I would consider this book as an appetizer for the Syngress one. If you buy one book, buy the Syngress one. Only buy this if you decide to buy two books or if you, like me, are starting with minimal knowledge. Good luck in any case!
