Rating: Summary: Great study guide and collateral materials. Review: Very good study guide, the CDROM has a good test engine. There are a few small errors, so back up your studying with some reference material. As always, you should never assume you buy any book and pass tghe test only from the book. You need some hands-on too.
Rating: Summary: This is an awsome book! Has everything you need. Review: I don't think anyone can pass the test by just reading a book. However, with all the great examples, router configurations, network analyzer output, labs and exellent review questions, you can get really close. If you were to combine hands-on experience with this book, the test will be no problem at all. This book has a great CD with a test engine that lets you test by Cisco CCNA test objectives, a subnetting tool, network analyzer and network diagraming tools from Visio. Add the best glossary I have ever seen, and this book ROCKS! I recommend this book to all.
Rating: Summary: This is the only book you need for the CCNA exam! Review: I read and passed the test with a 83% the first time. The content is right on with the test objectives. It has an easy to read format and great review questions at the end of each chapter. I recommend this highly over the Syngress CCNA book, which I returned.
Rating: Summary: Not worth it. Review: Didn't bother finishing the book as it wasn't helping. Confusing text made me doubt things I already knew. Unfortunate, but caveat emptor I suppose. Make sure you know where to find corrections if you drop cash on this book.
Rating: Summary: Back to the drawing board Review: This particular book I read, thanks to one of my Com Sci professors, was really a waste of time. The book drivels more on Cisco product and interface. If you want to pass the exam, Cisco Press books are the only way to go. Take my advice, you won't be sorry
Rating: Summary: A really good last-minute drill .... Review: I don't think any author -- or group of authors -- can write ONE book to prepare you for this exam (sorry, Sybex marketers: this book does NOT teach you "everything you need to pass" this test). However, Lammle has gone above and beyond BOTH his call of duty AND what we could think is possible. I have not taken this test yet, but I will report to Amazon.com as soon as I have. But for the time being, allow me to say, Thanks, Todd, for a grrrrrrrr-eat study guide !!
Rating: Summary: Returned the Osborne book and bought this one! Review: I returned the Osborne book and bought this one, and you should too! This book has the test objectives listed for each chapter, hands-on labs and great review questions. They also used a network analyzer to show how the protocols work. This was extrememly helpful. The CD has a great test engine that you can test by each test objective, I haven't seen one like that before, not even trancender. I would highly recommend this book if you are going to be studying for the CCNA exam!!!
Rating: Summary: This book is the one. You get what you pay for! Review: Yes, this book cost me more money, but it is worth every cent!!! It has the actual Cisco test objectives covered in each chapter listed at the begining of the chapter. I haven't had time to read the whole thing yet, but so far it is fantastic. I really feel I can pass the test after looking at the quality of this book. I returned the Osborne book and bought this one. If you are looking for a CCNA Study Guide, I recommend this highly!
Rating: Summary: This book is awesome Review: This book dwarfs the other CCNA books on the market. It isn't plagued with the subtle mistakes that the other CCNA books are. If you only buy one book make sure its this one, and if you buy this one, you only need one!
Rating: Summary: A Must Buy! Review: This book definitely helped me pass my CCNA. The material in this book will definitely provide you with the tools you need in order to configure Cisco equipment and pass the CCNA the first time.I passed the exam with a 901 the first try.
