Summary: Beware: Not enough to get you through the CCNA exam.
Review: You'll never pass the CCNA exam if you depend on this rag. The information seems comprehensive, but there are so many errors that I am certain the text was never even tech reviewed. I recommend finding a better resource and saving yourself the fifty bucks.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: If you want to pass the CCNA exam, buy something else!!
Review: What a joke! This Sybex book was confusing, expensive, inaccurate, and perhaps the most poorly written excuse for a study guide. It seems par for the course with the other Sybex books I've seen.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Don't Buy This Book
Review: I just finished reading this book; I am not sure what I read -- it is very CONFUSING! IT WILL IN NO WAY HELP ME PASS THE TEST. There are zillions of typos, unclear statments, and so on. I have browsed some of the other books, which look much meatier and less confusing, and would NEVER buy another Sybex book. There are other much better books that cover the materials on the test. I am upset that I wasted my money on this book! This will definitely NOT help me pass the test!

Summary: Love it, passed the test the first time!
Review: I have worked with Cisco routers a little. Without this book, I would not have passed the test. This book has EVERYTHING you need to pass the exam. Router experience is extrememly helpful.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent preparation for CCNA test
Review: After reading this book and doing lab excercises on a Cisco router, there was nothing on the test that I hadn't seen before. I passed with score of 82.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An easy to understand but in-depth book, highly recommended!
Review: This book is absoultly OUTSTANDING! Nothing has helped prepare me more for the CCNA test than this study guide. The authors seem to have taken the time to clearly explain the concepts behind routing and switching. Their techinical expertise clearly shines through. I recommend this book highly!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent book for preparing for the CCNA exam
Review: Todd makes technical information read like a novel. Easy to understand and comprehend. This book has been used by several employees to achieve CCNA certificates.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: BEST OF THE LOT! HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR THE CCNA!
Review: At first I bought into the Osborne/Syngress marketing. The Osborne book does not come close to helping with the exam. I returned the Osborne book and bought the Sybex book and I am glad I did. This book maps perfectly to the Cisco CCNA exam. If you read and study this book, you can pass the test, no problem. I think the review questions were harder then the actual exam. Also, the CD has cool stuff on it. Check it out. I recommend this book highly!!!!

Summary: What's the big deal?
Review: I recently purchased this book and found it as an adequate study guide, neither nore nor less.

Since I have not yet taken the CCNA exam, I cannot tell you if the material presented in the book is sufficent enough to pass the CCNA with flying colors. What I CAN suggest is that anyone who thinks that a single source of information can cover all the nuances of a given technology has not only already failed the exam, but also missed the point of what technical certification is all about.

In my opinion, this book has sufficiently outlined the general topics I need to master before I take the exam. Also, it's good to have all that information in a single volume. In addition, it is a great book to give to someone who has very little networking experience.

Summary: What do you mean Vapor Ware???
Review: I happen to have this book in my hands right now. Really haven't done more than skim through it as of yet, to buzy reading other books, but so far this book looks like a real winner.

I don't think anyone should ever just use one book to pass a test, at least not from Cisco. We don't want this to become another MCSE joke!

Get all the self study products from Cisco like ITM, ICRC, and HPDS. Really learn things inside and out, then go throught the study guide from Sybex. I think you'll find that no only will you be able to pass the Cisco exam your frist time out, but also you will be able to solve real life proplems, like fixing network router issues or something.
