Rating: Summary: I passed the test using only this book. Review: Like the other reviewers on this page, I passed the test after reading this book. The info is all there and the questions at the end of each chapter are real close to the actual exam. I recommend you read this book and get hands-on experience.
Rating: Summary: Another good one from Todd Lammle. Review: Todd Lammle has done it again. I would highly recommend this book, CCNA Study Guide. This latest work, like his others, has proved to be the best in its class. It is very readable as well as technically accurate. I know that obtaining the CCNA certification will enhance my career and having this resource has been a tremendous advantage. Keep up the great work Lammle!
Rating: Summary: Passed the test 1st time only missing 5 questions Review: I have all three CCNA books and the only one that WILL get you a passing score is this one. It clearly answers Cisco Test Objectives and in the sample test has some of the same questions as the real test. GET THIS BOOK
Rating: Summary: Good book but still need more resources to pass the CCNA. Review: I passed the CCNA easily but I have an MCSE and have experience with routers. This is a better book than Syngress' study guide. In all the Sylvan exams I have passed, I have always used 2 study guides. The CCNA did NOT have Appletalk, VLANs, or ATM. Concentrate on Cisco IOS, TCP/IP, OSI model, and WAN technolgies.
Rating: Summary: I also passed my test using this book as my guide. Review: I also passed my test using only this book as my primary study guide. It covers each test objective which makes it easy to follow and a good read. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Good Introduction to Cisco's new Network Certifications Review: As an Engineer with over 10 years in the business, I was pleased to see this text was easy to read and was generally pretty well put together. It is obviously written to help pass the test, but the book is well written and informative. This book and the CCNA test will be a good start for the up- and-coming Cisco Router Jocks to-be. Do not stop with CCNA. Continue with CCNP and CCIE. You'll do well financially.
Rating: Summary: This is not the book to buy. Review: This book is full of editing mistakes that make complicated subjects such as subnet masking even more difficult. The author tends to mention topics, but not go over them in great enough detail. This may be fine if you are planning on stopping at just the CCNA level, but the readers wishing to further their certifications will find this lack of explanation frustrating.
Rating: Summary: To the point, has all the needed information. Review: I found this book to be exactly like the test. It has the same writing style as the questions themselves. I passed the test using this book as my main study guide. Having hands-on would be helpful. I was able to run through the labs at the end of each chapter which really help me understand the material. 5 stars!!!!
Rating: Summary: THE book to buy Review: Took the sample test after reading the trash from Syngress and the Cisco ICRC book. I scored a 62 and that blew me away. After reading this book, scored a 95 on the sample and a 91 on the real test. BUY this book
Rating: Summary: If you have this book and the Cisco ICRC you will pass! Review: First of all I would like to thank the authors of the book for helping me pass the test. If you want to pass thes CCNA here are the steps. 1. Buy this book. 2. Buy the Cisco book for help in filling in the gaps this book left on the Wan section. 3. Take the practice questions at the end of each chapter. This book is worth the the questions alone.Very well written. I found only one mistake. Phillip W. Diamanti CCNA MCSE MCP+I
