Summary: This book will make you a CCNA
Review: I recommend this book to anyone who wants to become a CCNA. I passed the CCNA test using this book. I trusted the recommendations from this site and took the chance. It was worth it. If you do the questions in the book and get them all right before the test, you will have no problem passing the CCNA test (640-407).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding
Review: This book is technically acurate as well as a well written book. Owners of this book get a bonus discount on the NetworkGuides.com CCNA study web page. A deffinate PLUS to those who are looking to take the CCNA test. The CD is a nice bonus with test versions of a sample test, Visio 5, and EtherPeek among others.

Summary: Save your stars for a book that deserves them
Review: It is hard to believe that so many of these readers have given it a five star rating. I guess it all depends on what your expectations are. If you think this is an all knowing study guide you will surely come to the conclusion that this work is a dismal failure. However, if your are searching for a supplemental study guide to use as a desert after a full meal of real router experience and technical training then you might be inclined to see this work under a favorable light. How do I see it? Here is my expectation taken directly from the cover of this book: "Everything you need to know to pass the new CCNA ...exam". I passed 10 exams without ever taking classes (but by reading books and having experience with the subject)and one thing is for certain about this claim. This book in no way will teach you "everything" about the test. Put it this way, even if Sylvan let you carry the CCNA study guide into the test with unlimited time you would probably still struggle to pass (or maybe even fail if you're real stupid). Of course this is assuming that you knew nothing about the subject that wasn't covered in the guide.

Summary: Passed both the CCNA and the CCDA with this book
Review: I loved this book. I had taken both ICRC and ACRC and took the CCNA test. I got a 56%. After reading the book, I was able to pass both the CCNA and the CCDA tests within 5 days of each other. If you really know the CCNA stuff, you can pass the CCDA without additional study. BUT, you MUST REALLY know the CCNA stuff. The rest of the questions just need a little good guess work.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is the book you need for the CCNA
Review: The other reviewers are right on. If you are interested in studying the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) material, then this book will help you do that. It is easy to read, has a great format, excellent figures and lots of examples. The review questions at the end of each chapter are not to be missed.

Summary: Passed CCNA Test today
Review: I took the CCNA test today and passed the test with a 74% score. The CCNA Study Guide got me over the hump. I was using the CCNA Syngness book, which helped a little, but the book by Todd Lammle put me over the edge. I had used his books for my MSCE and they really helped.

There is really no substitute for hands on with Cisco routers, but this book helped me pass the exam. I will purchase his next book, Advanced Cico Router Configuration. There are still some question that I had not seen in either book.

Study hard and good luck.

Summary: Great Book for the CCNA
Review: I took the CCNA test for the first time after I had bought the Osborne book and failed the test. On that very same day I bought the Sybex book and studied it and passed the test. This book has all the information that you will need to pass the test. It also has some great reference material that you can find online. So buy the book and become a CCNA

Summary: Everyone loves this book.
Review: I have not met anyone who doesn't love this book (except probably the competition). It has great examples, real-world experience, yet follows the test objectives. I have two co-workers and we all passed the test using this book. We went through the labs, studyied the review questions and then took the test. No problem. We recommend this book highly.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I agree with all the other reviews, this book is the one!
Review: This is the best Cisco book. I have purchased the Osborne and Cisco ICRC. This is by far the best, with the ICRC in second place. The Osborne book is in 10th place out of three.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This book is the one stop shop for CCNA certification!
Review: The CCNA study guide is without a doubt the best written study guide available to prepare for CCNA exam. Without this guide you would have to use at least three different sources of information (the ICRC and HPSDC books, and the ITM CD). Having one study guide made exam prep easy. All the neessary test material is included and CORRECT! Hands-on experience with Cisco routers would be the only other recommendation prior to sitting for the exam. This is a must have book, worth much more than it costs.
