Summary: Dont be fooled !!!
Review: I just passed the CCNA exam this morning.Although I liked this book and recommend it as a studyguide towards getting your CCNA, I must warn you against believing the reviews stating "I never touched a router, but I read this book and now I am a CCNA". Those remarks are plants to increase book sales and just plain hogwash. I am an MCSE,ASE and CNA and have a lab at home with 2 Cisco 2500's. I have worked months before sitting for this exam, and very glad I did. Cisco's tests are not "read a book and pass" kind of tests. Reading along with hands on practice and hard work will get you the CCNA. But dont be fooled, this book will help you , but dont believe the come-on's from the "man on the street" reviews you read here.

Summary: Excellent Study, Passed Flying Colors First Time
Review: Overall it was very well written in a manner that was easy to understand and follow. Technical terms were fairly well explained, although I caught some minor technical errors that will most likely be corrected in the next version.

Well worth the money!!

Summary: This is the book you need to pass the test
Review: Trust me. I bought all three books and this is the one you need to pass the test. Couple this book with Chappels ICRC and you should pass the test. I passed the test reading the ICRC book and then studying the test questions from this book. The other CCNA book (SYNGRESS) is a total waste. I wish I knew that before I wasted my money and TIME. GOOD LUCK everyone. Anybody have recommendations for the CCNP let me know.

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: It was the most readable of the three on the market (ICRC and Syngress). It pretty well written and I passed the test with it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Easily the Best CCNA Study Guide Available
Review: This is a well-written and well-edited book which closely follows Cisco's exam objectives. The practice questions are similar to those on the actual Cisco exam (though the Cisco test has more questions of the "pick two" or "pick three" variety).

The glossary at the end of the book is more comprehensive than anything I've seen in any other study guide.

Few study guides (for ANY technical certification exam) are as accurate or comprehensive as this, and I was pleasantly surprised to find very few technical or proofreading errors.

The problems with the CD are only a minor irritation--this book is worth many times the price, CD or no CD.

Summary: OUSTANDING BOOK
Review: Sybex does it again. They just don't seem to miss with study guides. Passed the first time

Summary: This guy needs to take an English course
Review: While this book is informative, it is painful to read. The author is attempting a (very) laid back stying approach and he's pretty horrible at it.

The Cisco ICRC book is much easier to read, and it doesn't give me a headache.

Summary: Great book, helped me pass the first time
Review: With this book and a little hands on experience I was able to score 85% the first time around. The review questions included with the book are the best around. This book is worth every penny.

Summary: Tapas Das from Bombay, India , February 23, 1999
Review: I bought this book to prepare for the CCNA exam. The book explains everything very well and ,It's a very good book for the beginners.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very closely mirrors the exam questions that were covered...
Review: Wow! This book closely covered all of the topics on the exam. In fact, you really only need this book to get your CCNA. If you are looking for a prep guide & not a book about networking with Cisco routers/switches, this is the one.
