Rating: Summary: If you have this book - your success is guaranted Review: This book covered all the aspects of the exam I read icrc from cisco press for two times which made my concepts clear n then read this book for just 4 times n i got through ccna exam with flying colors - 81% at first shot. It looks that this book is basically designed with the exam point of view. I found no technical errors in this books compared to icrc where i got a lot of technical errors - but combination of both would be great - No Wonder.
Rating: Summary: Great foundation for passing the test Review: I read this book twice and answered 215 out of the 225 sample questions on the CD. If this is the only source of info that you use, you can pass the test but you'll only get around an 80% score on the test. I also read the Exam Notes and I scored an 81% on the test.
Rating: Summary: Very good for the money. Review: I think this book is very good for the price. It is a good starter book for anyone interested in Cisco routers. I gave it a four out five stars...it would have 5 but I like more graphical representation in my learning material.Good Book, Good Price.
Rating: Summary: Tstiko is one of my Academy students! Review: Mr Stiko is one of my Academy students. (Pardon my Instructor's pride). He reports that the exam is tough. Without the text, and we tried several, the Lammle book is superior. Mr. Stiko's advocacy for the text is well placed. Certainly, in preparing for the CCNA exam a person has to do far more than look for the one book with ALL the answers. There are none. Lammle's book shows you where to look, how to practice and how to prepare better than any other. For what it is worth I have two students in my Academy class who took and passed on their first attempt. They consider a major part of their success to be the text and the Cisco Academy's positively structured environment.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book for CCNA prep Review: I just passed my CCNA test. This book is the best one for this topic. Know Lammle well and you can pass too!! I will continue to use this book for reference in the future.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, succinct, and to the point for a class textbook. Review: My Cisco Academy Class has adopted this book as the text of choice for enhancing the Cisco Curriculum. Well written, easy to understand and contains useful exercises that lend themselves to hands-on and theoretical practices. We have room for more students in class and each person enrolled is urged to consider this text. Many of the CCNA textbooks are limited in one area or another. Lammle's book is robust and addresses areas other might miss.
Rating: Summary: Why get certified on a product you never use? Review: I am a bit surprised that so many people have bought this book with the expectation of passing a test on routing when they have never touched a router. That is exactly what has cheapened the MCSE to the point that it's virtually meaningless (by itself). Are we really going to let those jerks do the same thing to the CCIE cert. track?
Rating: Summary: It is OK for test, but only offers a general information. Review: This book was designed specific for test. However, without real working experience, it won't be easy to pass the test by just reading this book. Study the router configuration examples carefully in this book if you can not hand on a real router and do a real practise.
Rating: Summary: How is it? Well, it's all right for general Networking info. Review: If wanna pass the exam using this book by itself, then you are gonna waste your $$$.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: I would recommend this book for anyone taking the exam. The content clearly matched the exam. I also suggest having access to equipment to experiment with. Avoid the Syngress book, it is good, but it does not help with the exam. However, I was disappointed with the CD, the questions on the CD should have more questions than the book and they should be different from the book. The tests on the CD also does not simulate the real exam.
