Rating: Summary: This is a great book. Best CCNA Study Guide on the Market! Review: This book has over 150 reviews, 99% think this book works well for the exam. I also think that it is great for the CCNA exam. I ran back to my computer after taking the exam to write the review. I studied the book, which is very easy to read. I didn't want to write a review until after I took my exam. After all, if I would of failed, then the book would have failed. I received a 93% on my first try. This book had 99% of what I saw on the exam. If you are considering taking the CCNA exam, this is the book for you. I think the review questions are worth the money for the book alone. Good luck
Rating: Summary: Works for CCNA and router configuration Review: I learned how to configure my two 2500 routers and passed the CCNA exam with this book alone. Enough said.
Rating: Summary: I Passed with ease! Review: Yes, I am cheap. I didn't study *hard* and hoped to pass the exam. I only used this little awesome book and with no hand-on. I passed with 87%, first go.I have also used Todd's TCP/IP for MCSE. Everyone says that book was great, but I don't like it too much - except for the subnetting chapter. Not outstanding as a study guide. (Todd, why don't you copy the subnetting section from TCP/IP for NT 4 and paste it to your CCNA study guide?) Let's come back. CCNA by Todd is what I considered awesome. Easy to read and it serves the purpose - prepare you for CCNA only. I swear that you can pass CCNA with only this little book, (of course hand-ons would be great) if you know this book cold. Make sure you can dream-talk the OSI and subnetting, plus access list sections. I have to say that the WAN chapter is a bit weak - but it is proportional to the # of questions in the exam. Yes, subnetting is a failure in the book. I learned it from his TCP/IP for MCSE though :) All in all, this is the book for the exam - C. C. N. A. and it cannot be wrong. Strongly recommended!!!
Rating: Summary: Don't read TCP/IP, Just use the Questions Review: I took the test and passed, but with little help from the book. The TCP/IP charts are all wrong, and the book is very cursory at best. If you want to pass and be successful at your job, read the Cisco Press book and use it as reference. Buy this one for the questions, only. (Todd Lammle should know the test questions; he took the test 6 times.) Then burn it.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best Review: This book is one of the greatest books I've ever read about CCNA. It's so easy to understand. If you are taking the CCNA test, I suggest you to buy this book and keep it for later reference. Thanks
Rating: Summary: This book has 80% of what you need to pass the CCNA test. Review: The sample questions were really helpfull. The only part that is not complete is "LAN Segmentation". I recommend getting CISCO's CCNA Exam Certification Guide for "Lan Switching" section.
Rating: Summary: Better then Osborne and MacMillan books. Review: I have seen all three CCNA books on the market. This is the best book of all of them. I also bought the Sybex CCNA Notes book which is a great compliment to this book. The Keystone CCNA videos are great too and feature Todd Lammle himself. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to pass the CCNA exam.
Rating: Summary: Best CCNA book on the market! Review: This is the best of the lot. If you want your CCNA, you must have this book!
Rating: Summary: You still need the Cisco books!!! Review: This is an okay book. But if you really want to pass the test you better have the Cisco ICRC book as well. Some of the questions on the test use direct definitions from the ICRC book and they are not in this book. So good luck and get the cisco book as well.
Rating: Summary: the networking content is great but the router prog is not Review: If you have taken mcse essential, you will agree that the networking section is good. Yet, I was not able to learn how to configure the router from the book. I think the CD exam was more help than the book. Sorry, thumbs down on this one.
